after much debating i have decided to go with a 7afte build instead of swapping the motor. i ahve read most of the builds on this site and gathered as much info as i could and have decided to start my own thread for my build.
Here is a list of the parts i will be using for this build: stock 7afe with only 60k original miles (it was truly granny driven) Walboro 170 fuel pump (3sgte) - PURCHASED Greddy Emanage blue with ignition and fuel harnesses - Awaiting Stimulus Check Supra Injectors NKG Spark Plugs (2 degrees colder) Custom Manifold and Downpipe (courtesy of Mainstream Performance) T-25 turbo (Rebuilt DSM) Turbo XS Boost controller GM MAP Sensor OEM DSM BOV (1g or 2g eclipse) OEM SRT-4 Intercooler 2.5" Intercooler Piping Tapped oil pan Oil feed lines Dyno tune at 12psi i am shooting for 200whp but would be content with between 180 and 200 whp any info and advice as well as encouragement would be greatly appreciated, and i will update this as much as possible as the parts come in. On saturday I purchased an OEM Walboro 170 Fuel pump (3sgte) off a friend who had one sitting in his garage for cheap.
![]() it should work fine considering the stock hp of the 3sgte is above my current goals This post has been edited by SilvertopST: May 12, 2008 - 6:27 PM |

soooo what happened to the silvertop? lol just curious considering your name. It seems like a nice build keep me posted on the progress! ![]() well i priced out the cost of the silvertop and installation and everything, and it would cost about the same as this turbo build for only 130whp when i could run 12 psi on this build and hopefully have somwhere around 200whp and 200wtq... that and the motor thats in the car has 60k origional miles... why let it go to waste ![]() T-25 turbo? Where did you get your walbro? I'm needin to get one... The eclipse (DSM) t-25 turbos are a dime a dozen to find for relatively cheap and don't cost much to rebuild. They are also small and spool very well with minimal lag and are capable of reliably holding more power than i am looking to achieve. as for the walboro, i was in my friends garage looking at a turbo he had lying around and saw it and he had it from a build he was doing a while back and had no use for it so he sold it to me for $10. But i know you can find them on Ebay or Summit Racing. |
