So... I have a old AT202 sitting around that I was going to part out, which failed spectacularly for a variety of reasons. I have the bits to throw it back together and I'm thinking about racing it. Anyone here tried this? And if so, do you have any insight about what will bump you from the Stock Class into like... Prepared Street? And what other cars were you racing against?

-Cheers

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

its a great car to autox in. drop the weight (if its a hatch) by taking out the back seats, spare, passenger seat (if you want). weight is, i think the most important factor.
the cars you race against varies. i'd say integra's some miata's(beware!), if you do a decent amount of mods, maybe wrx's and evo's...

thats all i got for now, i will let you know what i run up against after this sunday

I have thought about trying it out once, even though my car is bone stock rolleyes.gif

Do you have to modify your car in anyway to make it like "saftey approved" to race?

This was actually my first concern, does ripping out the interior alter the car enough to exclude the car from the stock class? Not that I mind terribly, but I figured I should walk before I run... I'm sure the rules vary autoclub by autoclub...

Ya, that seems to be the long and the short of it.... Since I ripped out the dash as part of removing the Air Bag Wiring (that he did not end up buying) I was really trying to avoid re-assembling the entire interior... It might just have to be Prepared Street and get hammered until the car and driver skill come up to par....
