alrite im planning on a full build for high boost....3sgte rods....custom pistons(9-1)...and high performance bearings and rings....this is what i have for the bottom end. how much boost can i run on a stock head? what are some mods i could do 4 high boost? if i leave the head alone and just replace valves and valve springs w/ titanium would that be good enough or do i need bigger valves and port and polished head? which cams would b better for a turbo setup? Im thinkin 101..ne1 elses opinion greatly appreciated.

The weak point in the 5s head is the cams, they just plain suck. There are several companies that offer regrinds, such as webcams and others.
I am working on a similar project and when I ported my head, I found A LOT of casting flaws that needed to be corrected.
So, I would recommend cams, porting, and upgraded valve springs for starters.

edit: the webcams 194 grind seems ideal for the 5s, and they now have more aggressive grinds available , too.

If you are building the bottom end you might as well finish it off and build the head. To be honest I don't know how much boost the head can handle. But with the built bottom end you'll be good, but I recommend for you to at least port out the head. How head flows like dookie. And of course regrind cams. To be honest you can probably get away with a built bottom end with regrind cams for the head and a valve job done. You can probably hit maybe 300 horses, but will it be reliable? I don't know.

Larger valves will certainly help, but you will notice the biggest difference from cams.
Upgraded valve springs will allow you to rev a bit higher to take advantage of the cams and turbo.
What turbo do you plan on using?

You need to just get the regrind cams if you want a higher red line. Valves and valve springs will just help, not add rpms.

I hope you aren't planning on using the ct-26 turbo. I'd upgrade the turbo if you are planning on achieving high numbers.

I think I'll believe Ferrea when they say it adds up to 800rpm's

With a T3 you can make som really good numbers. Since your bottm end is built you can take a lot. With an addition of porting and polishing the head with cams. You can call it a day.
