so i was staring at my car after work today and realized that it would look badass if all four headlights were on at the same time. So I went ahead and turned the brights on and found my suspicions were correct. it does look bad ass. aside from driving around with my brights on all the time, what can be done to safely and legally run all four lamps? I'm thinkin swaping out the bulbs for some 9006's? (cant remember the number). wouldn't those fry out real fast though?

speculate

Do a DRL mod on the highs. Daytime running lights are lights that typically emit between 200 and 800 candella. An easy way to achieve this is often to run the standard headlights in series rather than in parallel so the light output is approximately halved.

This would give you three or four modes depending on how your parking & marker lights are set up (whether you can turn them on or they are always on when you car is running).

DRL only (high beams at 50%)
DRL + parking/marker lights (daytime driving)
DRL + lowbeam (all four lights on, nighttime driving)
lowbeam + high beam (all four lights on, when no other traffic in sight or when flashing someone)

You'll need to run one wire from the cabin to the engine bay and you'll need one extra relay in the cabin and two in the engine bay (in a sprayproof container). You'll also need to cut a couple of wires on your headlights and splice some wires. You can find all the parts needed from a ST20x or ST18x donar vehicle on ebay or just buy an aftermarket DRL kit.

yea I'm interested in doing this too. Wonder if just changing the high beam lights make it work.
