How do you remove the outer door handle? I tried last night but unfortunately I was not able do. The door is a power window door and it is off of the car. The window is currently down so I can look inside the door and see two nuts holding the handle on from the inside but I don’t see how to get to them. If the window was up I don’t think I could see the bolts but I may be able to get to the nuts. I can take the door out to my car and try to plug it up but I wanted to see if anyone else has done this.
(Mods I had no idea where to put this so if it needs to be moved please do so) ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

I believe (I'm not positive though) that you can get to the screws that hold the outer handle on from the inside if you remove the inside door panel. I believe your window will have to be up though so you can access the screws.

I believe your window will have to be up though so you can access the screws. Yup, put the window up, remove the screws along the bottom edge of the door card, the plastic rivets along the outer edge of the door card (push the center in with the cap of a biro or similar blunt point plastic object, then pull the outer out with your fingers), the screw in the door handle (the big one you use to close the door, not the lever you pull to open the door) and the screw that holds the door scoop trim on (the trim that slides under the door handle that opens the door from the inside). Once you have removed all the screws and plastic rivets, lift the door card up and it will lift off the door. You can get to one of the bolts directly. The other bolt is accessed by removing the circular black sticker. Once both bolts are off, you should be able to ease the outer door handle out and up. You'll need to get it about an inch away from the door to expose the little plastic clips that keep the metal rods attached to the handle. Twist the clips 90 degrees so that they unlatch from the metal rod. You should now be able to ease the rod out of its retaining hole. Repeat for the other rod and the handle will be free. Sounds like you have done this before! ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

no. door card is that little fabric-ish insert in the door's pannel. The pannel however, makes up everything that is the "inside" of the door.
