Center console piece looks good smile.gif. If you relocated your switches there though, what did you put in place of where the switches originally were at?

Take that bumper off. Or figure out what isn't connected.

Personaly, I'd take it off, and check to make sure everything is there (Bolts, nuts, clips, ect) then re-install it so that it lines up right. It looks like its off a clip or two. Shop will rape you in your wallet though...

Rub that white stuff off with your thumb. All n All it should Take a few hours. no big deal.

Take pix. I wanna see...

okay. I'll give you all the advice i can. You just have to take pics in advanced so i can try to see what the heck your talking about.

I've already gave you my opinion on that bumper. You can see one of the tabs that it's not holding onto in one of your first pics.

Advice Tip #2, When you move to Houston, I dont work exclusively for alchol. But it sure does get me out faster wink.gif

For real, I'll be happy to patch that side up for you though. Hollar at me next time you come down. thumbsup.gif

Look at that black thing under the light. On the inside of the bumper is a C shaped clamp that kina CLICKS into each other... just without the click... It's difficult to explain, but if you take the WHOLE thing off, and put it back on, i promise you the results will be MUCH better wink.gif

Your car would run better if you took your IAT sensor off the frame rail and put it in your intake where it belongs.

yeah the throttle cable is fine.

The IAT(intake air temp) sensor needs to be in-line with the air coming into the motor, so what you need to do is just pull your intake and drill a small hole in it a few inches back from the filter, then put a rubber grommet on it, and stick the sensor in. Thats all.

the original grommet from the stock intake makes a great insert for your SRI - just remember to drill the hole slightly smaller than the grommet's groove diameter is so it will press fit in and the IAT will press fit into that [not much - you just want it to seal slightly - your MAP based so a small leak there will be no problem].
This is the best way to do this.

-Or-

in the meantime, just ziptie the sensor to your intake piping near and facing the cone [To be honest the thing does very little as it is it's just you have it laying on a potentially hot metal surface]. You should fix it the right way above but I know plenty of people who don't - just get it off the frame rail]

Oh man, those were your damn "pop tabs" I hate those things... Now that i can see in there, it looks like your center piece is fcuked up actually... Get a fiberglass repair kit from walmart, Sand the edges of that thing with a high grit so you get some tooth & grip on that polyurethane, and refabricate the tab that screws into that area behind your light. Just guessing from the pic, that should help straighten things up a bit. However, i think that bumper is off center too though... Then again, i'm lookin at pics. What would i know rolleyes.gif But those poptabs look like they're out of alignment. angled; if you will.

IDK, i'd have to put my hands on it to guarantee anything. But fabing that tab back to one piece and attaching it cant hurt wink.gif

is there a how to on taking the bumper off?

looks like youre pretty far from a show finish bro,not that im clowning you or anything, im just being real..things needs to be fixed but so far so good.. my car being flashy isnt really my thing, i favor stock looking more than a "show finish" just my two cents, although "show finish" deserves alot of credit to the owner if done right, with alot of money time and knowledge everything is possible...good luck to you on this project..

sorry dude but you are on your way to rice out your car IMO. but to each his own. good luck with the "build"

and if you plan to turbo, dont turbo the 3sge beams, just buy a 3sgte, less of a headache and easier to swap in.

I've never seen a turbo red top beams. Isn't it meant to be an NA engine only because of high compression?

to turbo the 3sge you have to use the 3sgte internals, and wiring for the beams is a head ache. cheaper to buy a 3sgte and upgrade that than tryn to hassle with the beams IMO

i see ur point on hassle but im at no worries on wireing it up if it can be done ill get it done and when u say 3sgte internals u mean head parts what bout pistons ...i know if i use thoes parts it will decrese my hp but then it can be turboed right? ok here is main question i have the time and tool to rebuild and money so what has more potential and will give me the most hp 3sgte r beams

beams is a nice NA motor, but you can do alot more with the 3sgte and alot less hassle as everyone is saying.

let me put it to ya this way.

3sge beams with out tranny is about 2300-2500 bucks. 197hp at the crank. almost no aftermarket support (esp. here in the states) NOT BOOST READY
3sgte 2nd gen CLIP is about 2000-2400 bucks depending on clip. 220ish hp and aftermarket support here in the states BOOST READY
3sgte 3rd gen CLIP 2200-2600 bucks depending on clip. 240ish hp and some aftermarket support. BOOST READY

so why not just go with a 2nd or 3rd gen 3sgte and build that?
beams will just be more headache than fun.
many people here on 6gc have done the 3sgte swap, lots of info on it and we are here to help answer questions that you may have.

i just cant think of anyone who has swapped the beams into their usdm car. the community may not have answers for the problems you may run into.

and that is my .02

whatever you do go with good luck and happy building smile.gif

if i put shorter pistons in will that lower the compression ratio............what ratio is safe for turbo whats the 3sgte ratio.........................and i can see how u think its going to be riced out but its not im not going cheap on this im not just slapin aero taillights on and a coffe can for a xhast tip and call it fast the car gonna still have all it sexy curvs and style just gonna have a little aww in the parking lots

The beams motor doesn't have a whole lot of aftermarket support, so finding shorter, forged rods and forged pistons for that motor is going to be next to impossible. That is an engine that was tuned from the factory and is best left "as-is".

And if it's not cheap rice then you must've tossed the 3-spoke chromes, park bench spoiler, muffler tip, and all of your interior.

There's already a thread on this. I personally think the Beams head on a generation 3 or 4 3s-gte would be awesome. You'll need to work out a way to control VVT-i yourself (I've done this myself with ACIS.) RPM, MAP or TPS are good sensors to work with when controlling VVT-i.

Start with a 3S-GTE engine and a programmable ECU, then seize the moment when a red top head comes up, probably difficult to find in the US so look to import it.

I noticed you want 600HP though, you're kidding yourself. These are Celicas remember, not Supras.

i thought the same thing when i read list of whats going to be done, not that were bashing, again this is what everybody assumes when we see(or in this case read) somebody posts a "to-do list", i think its because most of the people nowadays rocks the stock look with no flashy body kits etc. simply because some of us thinks that body kits are already played out, unless ofcourse if its functional via its aerodynamics running road courses and time attack courses, other than that i prefer to stick with the simplicity it already has with its stock body, i have to give you props for re inventing your car to stand out, also i give you props for your plans of swapping motors and the effort to make it possible by learning alot more about the motors you will be working with, as i said before, anything could be done with the right amount of money knowledge and time, and the builder deserves alot of credit if done right, so whatever you do with your car is fine because you are spending your own time and money to it, do what you want to do with it all that matters is that your happy with what you have built...

600HP on a 2 litre would mean a very large turbo that wouldn't spool until near the redline making it not very drivable. Not to mention FWD, no lsd, no superstrut.

ok, time for a reality check.

forget about the beams.

its a 160whp high compression motor, thats not designed for boost, that costs about the same to swap as a 3sgte.

do you understand what a 600hp motor costs to build?

hell, we have guys who are struggling with traction with 300whp, nevermind double that.

come back down to earth, save your money, and do some proper research.

just a quick rundown:

3sgte swap = 4-5k
big turbo kit ~3k
ems 1500-2k + tuning (600-1k)
fuel 1k lines, rail, injectors, pumps (yes, pumps..a single walboro wont support 600whp safely)
built motor 4-5k
thats just a quick overview.
and thats doing all the work yourself.
