Hey guys,

I recently curbed my side skirt, now the rear portion of the skirt is lifted off the body a bit. I know there was a how to on installing side skirts, but i couldn't seem to find them. If someone could post a link that would be great.

--would you guys rec taking it off then reattaching it? (buy new clips at the auto store) or trying something else like 3m double-sided body tape?

thanks in advance

If it's the OEM skirt like the one i got, It's deff gunna have to come off.

It has these clips that the whole skirt "slide-clips" onto... PITA. Then after it slide-clips on then you have to run some screws into it.

I believe it's a delear thing. Let me try to get you a part number really quick. BRB w/ edit.

EDIT: Okay, N/M, because it's an optional thing, not standard on all cars rolleyes.gif i cant find it at my local OEM online dealer. I'd reccomend doing what i do, Go to a Toyota Dealership, and goto the parts department. Be nice to that guy behind the counter and and tell him a description of what you need. He'll pull it up and if your nice, he'll turn his monitor sothat you can see and make sure your getting the right stuff. wink.gif Each one should'nt be more than a few bucks each. (Dealership will ripp you off)

Any other OEM parts, i like to surf TOYOTAPARTSONLINE.NET b/c you can get part numbers, and breakdowns. wink.gif But this skirt isn't on there rolleyes.gif

Good luck.

Um wait! The slide clips don't require sliding if you are installing new ones. You would attach the clips to the skirt first then push them all into their holes at one time - infinetly easier than what we did, D-Man, on your ride. you just didn't want to shell out the cash for new clips remember?
BTW - The clips from Toyota are only $1.50 my cost [so maybe $2 each retail?] cause I just bought some fairly recently. You'll need a dozen or so of them to do both sides. 10 would for sure take care of one side.

I didnt want to drive up to the dealership b/c we'd been waiting hours for that paint to dry and you and your gal had things to do. Plus we were running out of daylight time. rolleyes.gif and someone's white clothing fur is still in my fender mad.gif

And if i remember correctly, your method may work, but something inhibited us from doing that origonaly... Oh yeah, half of the clips broke trying to take em out rolleyes.gif Damn poptabs...

LOLs wasn't trying to call you a cheapskate - just "on a budget" biggrin.gif
Don't worry - just cause I have money for OEM/Namebrand stuff now doesn't mean I was always that way [so I know all the ghetto cheap tricks laugh.gif ]
The above method I detailed is the correct way I believe.

DEATH, PM sent. (we gotta stay outta peoples threads rolleyes.gif )

Yes, He is absolutely right about being the right way, unfortunetly those things will almost certainl break if you attempt to remove em. I've managed to use the slide method, and it's worked fine. (although at the end, there is one tab that slides backwards, That's the one i just left out and using the splash guard bolt in points, it's 100% un-noticeable.) But if you have the time, and like $20, do it the right way wink.gif FTW!!
