Texas Meet in Austin, We can do it this time everyone Options

Ok. So we dont have everyone trying to set this up. Me and Shephen Lee are committing ourselves to try and organize this thing. We have all had some things go bad but i know we can get this together. We are shotting for Austin because that seemed to be a agreeable place to go. We all like the idea of Austin/Marble Falls Area Hill country. Here is what we have in mind:

Meet place: http://www.simon.com/mall/tenant_details.a...7&TID=61963 This is a bar Called Pluckers. From the info ive got from them, they are outside the mall and have a good sized parking lot. They are also open 11am till 2am. But either way, we can all pin point ourselves here and grab some food while we wait and meet and greet. After everyone makes it and eats, drinks, meets, and what have you, we can head for the Hill Country. (Side Question: How many people know that area of this Hill Coutnry, how to get there, and can we get a map or something so people can get an idea of the area, the road itself, what major roads it connects with and how to get to them? We need something like this so people that are not from the area or dont know the area wont get lost and blow a lot of gas trying to find their way out or back home.)

Time: Everyone agreed with 3pm on the old meet and i think we should keep this time. This makes sure that everyone that is going to come, will be able to get their in time to meet great and ride. Anyone who wants to get their earlier can, but for the big meet we plan to be at Pluckers at 3pm.

When: July 12th. Most can agree on this date. And we just need to state a date.

I'll be going to SA [Most likely] after the meet to spend the next day there if there is no second day. You guys can come or go home - w/e you want. But If I'm driving all the way to Austin [Which I hate] then I'm gonna drive the other hour to SA [Which I love]. And before any of you say "But SA is more than an hour from Austin" - it may be for you - but for me it's an hour or less cause I just loooove that particular stretch of highway and tickets are nothing new to me.

I'll take care of the cruise route, but cannot mess with hotels. Nailing the EXACT route through this hills will not be easy. I won't be able to stick around for day two and i have no idea where/what you guys are planning to do. I would maybe suggest looking about I-35 for a cheap place. Sorry, not trying to be an a** but i'm barely going to be able to make this meet, let alone arrange things. It takes a lot of work to keep a college GPA at 3.95

Btw, i think i was wrong about the bee creek enterance. That is another short(er) cruise. We actually enter around 620 & 1431.

For what it's worth - I'm going to be there for sure. One thing you need to keep in mind is advice I always give people who start/plan meets: If 20 people say they will show up expect 10. If you get more it's gravy. If you expect all you are just setting yourself up to be let down.
Based on that you need to determine whether or not half the amount of people shown below is good enough to warrant your attendance.

The reason i said to start the roll call over again on this thread is so everyone call check back in. Last time we had like 5 people post they where coming and never posted again. Atleast this way we could start fresh, The Roll Call is not accurate if we dont get everyone to sign up here. But if you want to go off of a guess then we can try that. Im going to PM everyone on this list either today or tomorrow to make sure they see this list, but im keeping my own list and when this meet gets closer ill post it up and well see how many people are really going to go.

Place, Is this road by Lake Travis?Bee Creek Rd, Spicewood, TX 78669, this is a address in the area im looking in or think you are talking about. From what im seeing on Google map this thing looks like its right off of I-71? am im Right Snap? if thats the case then we meet nere there. There are a crap tone of Golf Clubs out there. From what im seeing Houston guys I71 is right off of 290, so i think it woulfd be really easy for us to get to this road, but im not seeing anything other the Golf CLubs and open country for us to meet at. Wait. What about Gus Fruth Park? on the Google Map, From Bee Creek if you follow I- 71 down to 290 and then follow that to were 290 meets 360 there is a park to the right. If this is the area we are talking about what about this for a meet place?

12pm is a much better time for us to meet up & the cruise route looks like a lot of fun w/pretty scenery.

i'm waiting on getting my 205 front rotors & spacers back from the machine shop - should be done Monday, so i'm trying my best to get the Alltrac ready in plenty of time.

i asked my other Alltrac friend in the area & he & a couple other guys are going to try to make it, but i wouldn't say any of them are 100% going to be able to make it down.
again i can't stress how much Alltracs/3sgtes love to break down/screw up before meets
i'll check back with them well in advance & let everyone here know if they can for sure make it.

worse case scenario if we can't get the Alltrac ready in time we'll be in the AW11 w/4agze swap or as a last resort my Camry w/5sfe.
in other words, unless something unforeseeable comes up we're going to make it

That would be a bad idea. The drive STARTS in Austin, not marble falls. Starting point is "A" below. As far as a meeting spot, i can think of MANY. Malls, bridges, etc. It just depends on starting time/where people feel like meeting. I agree with others that this meet needs to start around 12pm, not 3pm. You guys tell me how and what time you want to meet up. I'll find the spot. The bridge is actually a pretty good place b/c its on a hwy and about 10mins from where we roll out for the cruise.

Was in the area of the hwy 360 lake austin bridge, so i took some pics with my cell. Parking could be an issue on saturday b/c this is also a popular boat launching spot on lake austin.

About meeting time: We all need to compromise about the time. Choose a time, place, and be there ready to shoot some pics and roll. Day sleepers might have to miss cruise out to marble falls. Remember, its a 45min drive back to austin as well.

ok guys. me and Panda have been talking. You guys want to get there early so you can head out and drive out. Me and panda want to roll out at noon and we cant really afford to make a drive like that, as fun it would be, we can barely afford the gas to drive to Austin, but we are gonna for sure, no question about that. its really not that we are being lazy, we just really cant afford the gas, and for use to get up there early would be like asking you guys to get up at 1am to do this. For the people that want to get there early and do the driving around Marble Falls, go do that before the big meet and the photo shoot. So basically you guys get there and roll out for the big drive around noon. mean while me and Panda will be leaving to head to Austin. by the time we get there, you guys will be back at the bridge. Then we do the big meet and greet and photo shoot. This way me and Panda will not be holding anyone back for the drive, and we will be able to make it and meet everyone and take pictures and what not. So you guys get together and go driving around first then we have the meet and greet and photo shoot. Everyone follow me? What does everyone think?

That sounds like a plan. Lets all keep in mind though that this cruise is the main part of the meet.

We WILL have epic meet video after this. Winding roads, good scenery, celicas, st185s, swapped engines etc. Enough said. The earlier the cruise starts the better the chances i'll be there. Keeping my fingers crossed. I will know more as it gets closer.

Sounds right. Let's say 8:30 at the latest. I live on 290 at a freeway entrance so we'll jump on and head out from there. Plus I have a full service Celica garage so if anybody needs anything last minute we're good to roll.
