Since my JDM Projectors was smashed, I need some quick and inexpensive way to rebuild my 6GC

But since Rayme out of stock of Clear Lenses, if anybody could part the clear lense and send to me ASAP for me to finish this project and my car, that would be much appreciated

Paypal Ready, or can trade with my stuff, Brand new JDM Tails, Curren Tails, Door Sills, Armrest combo, etc...

Could you do a parts list or a how to with actual pics? ( I have seen the other how to) I have been wanting to do this for a while but I really don't want to mess up my stock headlights or mess up a spare set.

smile.gif BTW they look awesome!!! That is just how I would like to do mine! You always have the best looking stuff man! thumbsup.gif

Thanks

Its real easy to make something non permanent without damaging anything if you only use glue/silicone. But you will have to remove the reflector and created a way to aim your lights after...using the reflectors and hacking into them gives you the ability to aim them using the stock adjustment screws.

Yeah I know, I am just scared!! kindasad.gif ! I was having trouble deciding what ballast, projectors, etc to use since there are thousands out there. If there was a sheet of these parts that people have used I think it would be a lot easier to do a conversion with ease. I need to just order some parts and start I guess! biggrin.gif

Thanks for all you help Rayme you are the the best when it comes to this!! Now I just need to talk you or Vincent into makeing me some biggrin.gif

The clear lense seems on the way to my hand, as soon as I get the lense, we can see the final production and I will try to fit to the car and see how it look when the lights on.

Tell ya what, the Ballast/Projector is kinda newer model, what the shop who customized this light stated that, the design and fuction of that Ballast/Projector is same as Mercedes S-Class' one; there is a shutter designed.

There is a wire at the back that could hook to High Beam, if the high beams on, the shutter go further up and the beams just like out of High Beams.

And again, Rayme is the Man, Thx a ton...

Don't have 2 much headlight left in junkyard in good condition for other project...
So can't be Mass production, unless u just want the kit...

This project begins from here......

The cost for this project...

All four used JDM non-projector headlight = $0 (From buddy)
All 4 Clear Lense = usd$90+shipping
Projectors (Used H7 Bulb) +Angel Eye, 2 in one = usd$180 a pair
24cm Led strip x 2 = usd$30 a pair
Pair of Philips H7 Bulbs = usd$15
Adapter H7 to H1/H4 = usd$15

Tools
Heat Gun= usd$40

Still way cheaper than order another set of JDM Projectors from Japan via dealer.

Guys... I don't have spare headlight for another mod......
TBH... the shop that sold the Angel eye+Projector ballast helped me a lot on this project...

The best thing I could do is help u guys buy these kit and send to ya
Projectors (Use H7 Bulb) +Angel Eye Ballast, 2 in one = usd$180 a pair
24cm Led strip x 2 = usd$30 a pair

The rest of the stuffs... like H7 bulbs, Socket adapter; I think you guys could easily to get in Home Depot, Super Store, Walmart, Canadian Tire...

For the Clear Lenses, RAYME def is the man, he's my Savior......

I would go up to China on coming monday for those kits... PM me if interested

All my money went to fixing my car... so need deposit this time if you want the kit, I am afraid my rest of money get hold up

USD$210 + whatever shipping, would charge exact shipping, normally approx usd$40 for 3KG package

Vince

If someone wants to attempt to make these themselves, I got a pair of reflectors (the thing that's inside the housings) here for sale. If you buy these it means if you fubar your attempt you can still revert back to your stock headlight (or if you sell the car)..as this is usually a permanent mod.

I love it Vincent! If and when I can get the funds, I will be hitting you up for this. I just wish there was a way to sticky this (if you are willing to keep this going) so that this thread may never be lost and for everyone to take advantage of. I really like it though. Great job! Even better than before. Can I ask what happened to your car (how the accident?)?

Okay, so do the highs just have clear lenses on them, but otherwise stock? Also, can you post a how-to for mounting the projectors? Finally, Rayme has mentioned reflectors. How do they come in and are they necessary or just preferred? Thanks for the info.

Okay, so do the highs just have clear lenses on them, but otherwise stock? Also, can you post a how-to for mounting the projectors? Finally, Rayme has mentioned reflectors. How do they come in and are they necessary or just preferred? Thanks for the info.

the reflectors is the stock peice in the headlight, you bolt the projectors onto it and thus destroy it. I just happen to have a pair for sale biggrin.gif .

For my high, just removed the stock glasses lense, remove the plastic piece(not the chrome like one)... I dunno what's that call, the stock color looks like grey or silver, remove those, 2-3 screws and a click, very easy to remove, then spray those with body color... let those dry then install back...
then Rayme's clear lenses...
High Beams mod are very easy

hope i'm not going off topic here ... but got an idea when vince talked about taking the plastic bit out and spraying it body coloured ~

Just out of curiosity ... with the plastic 'trim' bit in the headlights ... they don't do anything for the luminosity of the lights do they ? Like if I were to mod my stock ones (take out the plastic, spray them black) my lights wouldn't be any dimmer would they ?

Not off topic at all... I don't think that plastic trim do anything for luminosity of the lights... U can paint anything u like...
But without clear lense... just don't waste your time... our old stocked fuzzy lenses couldn't let u see from outside...

I think this looks good, I think it would look better if the plastic trim you painted was smooth instead of bumpy like it is. Is there a reason it has all those grooves?

I like the colormatched "ring"! Do you plan on getting shrouds for the projectors or going HID?

I wish I could use HID, but its illegal here... unless those HID are stocked items for newer cars...

My pairs and my friend's (Black One) pair are using Rayme's Lenses...
Can't say perfect, but nearly perfect in my eyes, I am satisfactory with that...
How come you ask such question? I don't have skills for that... and don't wanna waste time to source...

That looks really good - what did he use as a shroud? Did he custom make one, or did he have one for those projectors? I'm about | | <--- that close to doing a projector retrofit, and I'm still looking for the perfect material to make a shroud with.

Don't get it, what do u mean by shroud? U mean housing or what? Everything is stock, just need to drill holes to fix the projector ballast, and use spray paint to paint all the plastic pieces in Black

The shroud is the part that goes around the projector housing so it's not visible. Are those JDM projectors that were modified in that picture w/the black painted reflectors, or are they non-projector lights that were retrofitted with projectors?

Hello together, hello vince.

Today i started to retrofit some headlights.
I got the glass off very easily. 120°C in a steam oven 5 Minutes and then just slightly use a knife or a palet knife or so.

Then i took the headlights apart. No problem.

I then started to dremel out the inner circle of the refelctor.
see picture:

then i tried to get it a little square...

But now before i go further i have got a few questions.

1) How much should the projector itself look out on the backside of the reflector?

2) At the projector itself is there a left and a right one? They both look the same.

3) At the projector there is this metal plate which covers a part of the light. You know. But when the projector gets attached will this metal plate be on the upper site or on the bottom of the Projector? I gues on the upper site like this:

Please answer to all questions. Thank you.

Joerg

I don't have spec for this, sorry

2) At the projector itself is there a left and a right one? They both look the same.

Both are the same, no matter which one left and right, both are for left hand Drive, I mean the beam direction

3) At the projector there is this metal plate which covers a part of the light. You know. But when the projector gets attached will this metal plate be on the upper site or on the bottom of the Projector? I gues on the upper site like this:

There is 2 wires out of the projector, hook it to any 12v source, u will see the motor make the metal plate flip down, and let the beam strike higher to serve as high beam

So. should be sit at the buttom, try it before fix it mate
