I used synthetic valvoline b/c my mechanic gets a big discount on the stuff and its awful. I've heard good things about Mobil1 Syn and Amsoil Syn so i'll be switching to either pretty soon.

808: 5 quarts? Our transmission only takes 2.8 (if you're manual). You must be automatic?

I have just done my change and used Pennzoil Synchromesh....works really good for me, got rid of all grinding I had going from 5:th to 3:rd...love the stuff!

Royal purple synchromesh has a good reputation but i havn't tested it myself...

I hear MT-90 is the best tranny fluid. When i did mine i couldn'y find any good brands so i settled for castrol syntec it works okay...

Oh and i used 75-90W in ym corolla should be the same in the celica.

Our manual states a drain and fill is 2.8 quarts though.

I was having some drain out after about 2.5, something is definitely wrong there.
