Someone hit my celi, I DONT KNOW WAT TO DO!! Options

OK this night is horrible. someone hit my car. backed into it. it is f**ked. I dont know what to do, i cant match the paint i cant sell for a decent price to get soemthing better im totally lost i am just completely lost. Right now i dont even know what im asking for in this thread. i just need insight or something idk

it wasnt a hit and run. it was someone i knew but hes lucky that ive known him along time and that he really does feel bad. about it.

if it makes you feel better someone vandalized my car with eggs at work 2 nights ago paint is **** now

file a report with the police and possibly the place where you parked at??? ask for any cameras and i guess take note on the other cars around you. also ask around if anyone knows who parked in the place the possible auto was at?

um idk i cant match the paint at all. its cracked pretty bad, i tryed to fix it and succeeded a little bit. im gonne need a new bumper and i cant paint it that same color because it cant be matched. so for it to look right i would have to paint the entire car which would be plus the bumper about 3300.

Best thing for you would be to get the paint as close as you can, replace the bumper and sell the car [Seeing as you are already down on it before this happened].
Or sell the car and tell the new buyer everything on the up and up [subtract price of the bumper and what It would reasonably cost to get it painted]. Chances are the new owner won't be as anal about the color matching as you are since you worked so hard for it. There really isn't much that can't be at least very closely matched - it can't be all that bad.
Why would you park where there is a possibility of being hit anyway? I regularly park as far out as possible everywhere I go. If I can walk a mile to go in a store feeling fairly safe I'd do it in a heartbeat and my paint is nowhere near as fresh as yours. I always park near at least one or two obsticles like curbs, light towers etc. You're gonna have to work to hit my car.

Okay, Look. that paint CAN be matched. Do all the prep work first, then take it back to the original shop that painted it. (got a recipt?) It can be hand matched. (sometimes with a bit of a fade/color difference, but POSSIBLE, and unnoticeable to the naked eye!!)

Secondly, That bumper was FIBERGLASS Polyurethane; Eat your heart out

Fiberglass is fixable VERY fixable. Even for you my friend even for you.

You've got some PM my little buddy. We'll get you fixed up. But tell your broke a- friend, that he's gunna be shelling out some dough, because if this aint fixed soon, Then i'll be making a road trip to build a boot-shop in someone's a-ahahahahahhh

trust me in parking lots i park as far away as i can. but i was in my friends driveway. i pulled up behind my friend cause that was the only spot. i left a goot 7 or 8 feet behind and i went inside to chill. then he had to go take his sister to some store to get cigs and i hear this crrraaack and my heart sank.


Ive had so much luck with this car. and it was all bad. Ive gotten hit 3 times with it when it was parked. every damn time i was hit i was f**king parked. I think its a sign to tell me to get off my ass and sell it. I mean, i love the car so much. i put alot of blood sweat and tears into teh exterior. but all it brings me is bad luck with damages.

Sorry, I know he's your friend and all, but is he insured? Then his insurance needs to take care of it, it's as simple as that. It's not you against him, it's you taking care of your car and his insurance covering it. That's why we HAVE insurance. That's great that he feels bad and all, I'm sure he does. But did he offer to take care of the damages? Probably not if he doesn't have a lot of $$, that's understandable. But he SHOULD say hey man, we'll go through the insurance and get it taken care of. That's what you're SUPPOSED to do. If he's not insured, well, sounds like you're screwed. I hope he's a really good friend of yours and and worth swallowing the loss in favor of your friendship. But if he's just some guy you know, well, it's an insurance claim. Or you could suck it up and file a hit and run with your own insurance, even if you just have liability that will usually cover hit and run damages.

I just got an estimate. it was 1290. hes not goin through insurance due to a driving violation. but when i told him he said its bull because a bumper is 300. i told him that they need the bumper, paint,materials and labor. they are gonna blend it with the fender so it will look right. So im not sure what hes thinking. if hes not gonna pay it im gonna half to kick the hell out of him. i shouldnt do that tho. if he says he not payin for it im fileing a lawsuit.

I had a similar situation....a "friend" backed into it. He and I were drunk at a party and I had parked my car in the far corner of my friend's HUGE driveway as NOT to get hit...AT ANY RATE.....I am on the phone with this girl walking towards my car to get something out of it as I witness this "friend" sneaking off even after we told him not to leave because he was too drunk....backed right into my 97...scratched the door,rim,side mirror,cracked the fender,scratched the hood... 6,000 worth of damage due to the custom color of my car....he was 6 car lengths before the end of the driveway and just cut the wheel...I didn't want to deal with cops that night because we were both drinking and I didn't want him to get arrested....but he avoided me for 3 weeks and for 3 weeks I wanted to beat the living crap out of him and finally I made my insurance go after his because I gave them all his information. People suck. Needless to say...we aren't friends anymore because of this...but mostly because he was an idiot and a coward. Jail time might have set him straight.

I have to agree. Unless he actually starts coughing up money for the damages that he caused, then he's not really a friend is he? You shouldn't even have to "split" it with him, Fcuk that; he was driving and ramed into another car. What if that was a cop-car he ramed? He'd be screwed. Or what if that was a little Altima with my wife & daughter in the car? Oh he'd be fcuked. What if that was a kid crossing the street that he ramed? He'd be facing many years in prison for it.

I'm just saying that he's lucky that he hit you, and that you're nice enough to give him the opportunity to pay for the damages. He should be GREATFUL that no one was in the car and injured. He should also be greatful you didn't whoop his ass on the spot, and called insurance right away.

If this was your Friend, he'd be breaking you off with each bit of his paycheck, or w/e he can muster to repay you.
