hello all,

I searched for a bit and couldn't find what i was looking for. I'm about to buy some used Scion Tc 17" rims today and was wondering which lug nuts to use? should i use my celica lugs? I currently have the stock 15" rims and lugs.

my car is a 1996 Toyota Celica ST. Thanks in advance.

Casey

The stock lug nuts will work. I have the tC lug nuts since they came with my wheels. The only difference is that the tC nuts stick out a little [less]. The interface with the wheel is the same.

The stock lugs will work, however, they aren't hub centric (not sure if that's the name, they have a little dome inside made to go inside the lug well, the stock ones don't) so they will eat away the wheel slowly. I just got my TC wheels, and I'm using the stock lugs only for a short time until my TC/7th gen GTS (they're the same part number) lugs come in from Toyota. Here is the part # if you want to get some: 90084-94001

I'll pull one off my car and take a picture. They are the same on the inside.

Then you might already have them then. I'll post comparison pictures when I get mine.

x2 I have a full set laying around in my garage. Perhaps Gotoyota's car didn't have stock 15" rims when it was originally purchased? I've never seen non-domed [w/e you call it] lugs on stock wheels on a 6gc before.

Oh ok, they're probably the same as factory. I had aftermarket 15" wheels on my car when I bought it, so it had different lugs. Sorry guys. smile.gif

I had it backwards in my first post; the tC nuts are shorter. I'll go back and edit that post just so there's no confusion.

You sure about that? The extra lugs I have laying around are from my old tC and they are long.
Doesn't really matter anyway tho - the extra length isn't necessary on our cars as far as I can tell.

Those are the nuts that came with my wheels. The guy I bought them from worked at the dealership. He had replaced the center caps with Toyota ones too. I think the long ones would look a little off. The shorter ones recess nicely into the wheel.

The same thing happened with mine too, as mine came with Toyota center caps. Can't wait until I get my lug nuts. smile.gif

I'm pretty sure that i have the longer ones on my car with the factory wheels. I'm picking up the Tc rims tomorrow and i will swing buy Toyota to order a set of the smaller lugs.

Thanks for the info everyone. It's exactly what i needed.

I got my rims yesterday and here is a pic. The guy was real nice and let me pick them up for $150. He also gave me the short lug nuts pictured above. I think I'm getting the Hankook sport k104 tires put on Monday.

Sorry for the crappy quality, it was taken with my phone. But the rims are in a lot better condition then i was expecting.

UPDATE: here is the car with the rims on. I went with the Hankook V4ES instead of the Hankook sports k104. The rim and tire combo handles great! I cruised up to about 100mph and felt stuck to the road.

That looks so much better. Now you just need some centercaps.

When I traded Scott for his TC wheels, he said the previous guy put center caps from a Prius on them. Don't know a part number, but that should help you somewhat.

TC wheel club FTW!

I think the guy I bought mine from said they came off an Avalon. Do a search, I think there was a thread with a bunch of different options. There are some TRD caps that will fit I think.
