Pics below with more to come as the process continues.

Hey Art this is Jim, no the second gen 3sgte is running great no problems at all. I just HATEEEEEEEE standalones. I dont like how much they cost, I dont like the fact I cant tune it myself, or bring it around locally to someone, I hate how they dont always run the car well under extreme weather differences, I hate the fact that when you add a part after you have your standalone installed you have to pay another outrageous amount of money (up to 800 dollars!!!)to have it retuned. Dude, its just not for me and it never was. But on the same token I NEED (lol) more power than 275 whp. Dude, that gets old quick. I Love the fact that the third gen st205 comes with 540's. I dont have to have some fancy tunning to achienve 350whp. the car does it for me. Gotta love that. I love the fact the car will start and run 100% whether it is 0* out or 100* out. The car will run just as strong and reliable wehter i am ripping it at the track, or my mom takes it to pick up groceries. I want a nice, clean, fast, reliable, and easy driving car that can get into the 12's with ease, but doesnt mind cruising around town all day......the gen3 is where it is at for me. The WRC was just a perk.. I walked into that blind, I thought i was buying your run of the mill st205, and I was happy, it wasnt till later that I found out it was in fact a WRC while i was researching the st205 stuff. (Imagine my surprise i bought a clip of which only 2500 were made and didnt even know it, what are the chances) But again, the second gen is running great since MANNY (love that guy) hooked joey up, and fixed whatever BS was hacked into.

After a few hours after work everyday we finally got the motor out the clip today...We had to remove the engine from the bottom of the clip bc the all wheel drive trans is to big to pull it from the top. After taking the engine out we saw that the timing belt was just changed its brand new..the same with the water pump which is great...I have some new pics of the progress.

Thanks Art, and yes you are right. Swapping it yourself really is the best thing you can do for yourself. I have learned so much just from pulling the motor out of the clip, things that are so much easier doing then just reading about. I have seen many motor swaps, tranny swaps, turbo swaps, turbo installs, etc. And I didn't learn nearly half of what I have learned from just digging in and pulling this motor. But, being around those things has helped in eliminating the fear, and making this project go so smoothly. It really is just a fear, It isn't very complicated at all. It is a great experience to do the work yourself, because you really do enter a new world of understanding and knowledge of how things work. Thanks for the compliments art........JIM

Yes we installed ATS cam Gears. I feel that if you swap your car, or are doing a timing job on a 3's and you want to do any type pf upgrading later, NOT doing cam gears is a waste of money, and you are going to be annoyed with yourself later when you start rsearching them and realizing how wild they truly are. There are gains to be had with adjustable cam gears on the 3's, and by not having it, you cant get the most out of your tune/car. A nice update is coming in due time

Well heres what went on this weekend
Manny came down to help with some work on the 3rd gen The 2nd gen engine is out of the blue car....when we took the trans out we saw that the spec clutch springs are already starting to come out and the clutch is only has like 2000 miles on it I am going to post up pics and send them to spec bc that is way to soon to start seeing problems. The cam gears are installed and the berk tech downpipe are as well..Manny did lots of prep work so we can be ready to get the engine back in. In a little I will post up the pics Manny might even post more abut what he did bc hes good like that. Dustin thanks for all the wiring help. thread cleaned.
jim, you must have been WASTED last night. ![]() ![]() D, the ATS cam gears are pretty sweet, and were EASY to install. we'll see how well they work here at the dyno in a few weeks. we REALLY wanted to get the 205 at least in the bay yesterday, but, with the clutch disk issue we ran into, i just couldnt see taking the chance. the problem is that it seems to me like the springs are "pushing" theyre way out of the disk, the little metal tabs that keep the springs in place are quite deformed, and some of them are actually breaking off in little peices on the ends. shannon, post the pics i had you take yesterday of the disk, maybe some of the guys will have an opinion on how that disk looks. from what ive read it seems like this is a somewhat "common" issue with the spec disks, which is kind of a bummer. like i told jim "its up to you if you want to reuse it, but do you really want to take the chance?" IMO its just not worth it. theyre sending pics over to spec, to see what they have to say about it, i could very well just be being overly carefull, but i figure its always better to be on the safe side when it comes to that kind of stuff. so, we just worked on getting all the 205 work buttoned up so that they can bring the motor and car up to me to finish up for them. its just much easier doing the work up here, where i have everything i need at hand. j & j and crew got alot done with the space and tools they had available, but with Jenn getting ready to have the baby, we just cant be traveling down to nj for the next couple weekends to give the guys a hand wrapping things up, so they are bringing the car and the motors up to me, and we'll be finishing things up here. jim and i worked up a deal for the 2nd gen motor that was in the car, which i will be getting in exchange for the work we will be doing to his car and shannons 5sfte powered monster over the next few months. look for a few more additions to the infamous "shannons 3s swap nightmare" post i made a while back about this setup once i get the motor here and start tearing into that thing. what a mess. im just glad that will be over for jim, this 3rd gen setup is gonna be much better in every way. and, its a WRC edition motor to boot, which is cool, even if it is just for bragging rights!! What did your research uncover about the standard ST205 and the WRC ST205, Jim?

What did your research uncover about the standard ST205 and the WRC ST205, Jim? The WRC and the standard ST205 are identical in almost every way except for the fact the WRC has a lot more goodies on it. A WRC came with factory water injection, factory intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer, Antilag system, heat "protection" piece between the header and the TMIC, the hood comes stock with the hood spoiler. The Water injection, intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer, and the anti lag system all come inactive in the street version of the WRC, and only the race car had the ECU to control all of these features. But that doesn't mean we cant get them to work ![]() ![]() The factory water/meth injection nozzle (which looks like a GEN2 Cold Start Injector) comes Installed into the bottom of the throttle body on the WRC edition, which is going be a big help in getting my devils own kit to work on the GEN3. Manny will get a better look at it when he has the motor up there. The problem with the standard ST205 is that when trying to install the nozzle of the devils own kit, you need to install it between the intercooler and the throttle body. The problem here is that the only place to install the nozzle is about 2 inches long and is made of rubber ![]() The factory intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer also comes inactive on the WRC street car, but I should be able to get around that as well with very little work. The intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer is mounted on the inside of the JDM crash bar, it comes with 3 nozzles pointed at the heat exchanger all on a continuous line that runs to the window washer tank. You cant believe the amount of stuff that is on the WRC window washer fluid tank, it has more wires, pumps, hoses, etc. I believe I read somewhere that the pump for the intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer is a working pump (which also supplies fluid for the water/meth injection), and all that is required to get it working is to wire it in. Well I couldn't find information on when it comes on, how long it sprayers for, or even if it does spray with out a switch. All that I read was that it could be wired in, but made no mention of to control the spray. Realistically I will only need the intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer to work when I am at WOT and wanting to cool the intake charge as much as possible. So based on the lack of information on the factory pump, I will install a new pump in place of the factory pump and connect all the factory lines that go the intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer to the new pump. As for wiring I will tap the power source for the pump to the wire off the Devils Own kit that sends power to the water injection pump so that way I only use the intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer when needed at WOT. So basically when the water injection starts spaying at 11psi, so will the intercooler/heat exchanger sprayer. As far as the antilag system goes, I am not going to fool around with that for now because I really don't have a need for it. The pea shooter ct20b spools plenty fast on its own and doesn't need any help. I have some ideas for the antilag, but they aren't going to come into play until I am ready to upgrade to a bigger turbo. And no not all all antilag systems will destory turbos. Many EVO's use antilag and hold up just fine turbo/motor. I will do more research on this to see what makes the EVO antilag system less harsh compared to other systems. I obviously cannot use the antilag system like the WRC race car had, but with the plumbing in place, I do have a few options. Just need time, and a bigger turbo to make it all worth considering. In due time. This post has been edited by _Jim_: Sep 22, 2008 - 7:51 PM --------------------

ok, so, jim and shannon came up last weekend, and dropped off the motors, and chassis to me.
we've been waiting on a clutch disk, and have ordered some new OEM parts for the car and motor, and hopfully will be getting things up and running here real soon. in the meantime, i had jimbo bring me up some reflective heat tape, to wrap the bottom of his intercooler with, much like Dustin did on his 205 swap and the UK guys like to do. a couple pics: the stuff we used. we got it from www.summitracing.com . IIRC it was ~51$, for a 4'X3' peice, which is PLEANTY to do the IC twice, and still have lots left over for god knows what! lol ![]() the IC before: ![]() ![]() starting the first layer: ![]() ![]() 2nd layer: ![]() ![]() ![]() we also picked them up an oil filter sandwich plate from www.twosrus.com , because with the 205 IC and associated lines, ect, there really isnt enough room for the oil pressure sender where most people normally put it. just as an FYI, the oil filter threads are 3/4-16. ![]() more to come soon! ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

ooh yeah to add to _jim_ wrc set up..the wrc motor comes with steel turbines 74080 which in the stock non-wrc st205 they come with ceramic turbine 74040. thats why the wrc has the anti-lag system the turbo itself can handle much more then a ceramic ct20b. just my little add on to this post..

ooh yeah to add to _jim_ wrc set up..the wrc motor comes with steel turbines 74080 which in the stock non-wrc st205 they come with ceramic turbine 74040. thats why the wrc has the anti-lag system the turbo itself can handle much more then a ceramic ct20b. just my little add on to this post.. even the WRC version that came from the factory will not be able to handle the anti lag system taht is installed in the wrc 205 yes of course. your right the wrc version steel turbine 20b wont be able to handle the anti-lag system for long..but it would be able to handle more then a ceramic turbine 20b. im guessing thats why they put the 74080 steel turbine 20b into the wrc version st205. but with a big pocket or sponsors you can blow threw anything and not worry. so the point of me adding on to jims wrc motor is that it comes with a steel turbine ct20b..not a non-wrc ceramic ct20b. people will argue that the steel turbine is better and others would say the ceramic turbine is better. but who really know. all i know and have read on, is that the steel turbine ct20b can handle more abuse then the ceramic one. but correct me if im wrong. and yes exactly what i was going to say...that they do replace the turbo after ever race..haha ![]() This post has been edited by RUNNIN-LOW: Oct 6, 2008 - 10:51 AM -------------------- ![]() |

haha at 20 psi i got 304 to the wheel and 286lb of touque..with devil/meth injection..fuel pressure reg and the power fc..tune at 93oc havent tried it with race gas but yeah that was my sheets. ive heard that its really stresses the turbo at that psi, but some mr2 guys have been doing 20psi daily and have no problems. so yeah yours might be close to that or maybe more depends on the tuner and you have cam. but yeah your motor looks sexy i remember mine when i had it out like that and replacing everything. good luck with the tune..and install

Yea MANY mr2's have been pushing 20 on ct20b's daily, so I am not worried. You are running meth injection currently? I would like to see your setup and where you installed the nozzle, I have the factory water injection to work with so im set, but I would like to see where you installed your nozzle. I wont be getting it tuned, there is no need. At 17 psi it dumps all the fuel it has anyway. I would like to see your dyno sheet.

If the picture of the GEN3 is the one you have in your profile, you do not have a WRC.

Did you guys powercoat that intake manifold, valve cover and heat shield?
Im impressed. Motor looks great and a color choice for the coating is excellent. Props for doing things right. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Thanks Art, but no. It is actually autozone High Temp paint, there highest rated paint "2000*" Yea I liked the color because it wasn't so much "bling", it was more of a clean looking install.

Thanks man I took my time, like I said from the start, I am in no rush with this project. All is looking good so far, it is only a matter of time now. I ordered the new ACT disc, and took off the pieces I needed off my old tranny and will be shipping it off to Manny tomorrow. It should be fun. o0o0o0o0o and you should come to Island dragway with us on the weekend of November 8. Anyone that is local and looking to get some 1/4 mile runs in should come, or anyone looking to just bug out for weekend should come. Thanks again Art

haha im surprise that you say that jim.. you only see one side of the car and not a up close picture of the motor. how can you tell if its not a wrc or not.. not to say that your the only one that has the wrc on here but yes i do have one..and from the picture you cant tell nothing from it....ill show you pictures of the dyno sheets and my motor but yeah please do not say i dont have a wrc motor..or a 3rd gen. cause if any other person looks at your motor and mine they wont be able to tell the differents...just ask all the minnesota people on this site and all the mr2oc guys they know i do...so dont doubt me just cause i dont post fancy things like you guys do..

LOLOLOL I must have struck a nerve, LOLOLOLOL well there is ONE HUGE way of telling whether or not you have a WRC or not......and that is the heat shield. The heat shield on the wrc and the standard ST205 are very different. By looking at your profile, you have the standard st205 heat shield.....or so it seems from the picture. If it is just the angle of the camera, then I am wrong LOL it happens, trust me. If you could post up a couple of pictures of your motor, it will be very easy to tell if you have a WRC or not. Im not saying I am the only one with a WRC LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL because I could care less.

haha you didnt strike a nerve or anything..its just funny that when someone points out things..haha ive had my motor for a little longer then a year now and i know whats wrong and good about it. i dont like the anti-lag system cause it blows turbos and i use my car for daily driving i dont need it to super spool everytime i do something wierd and end up getting my car stolen from the little car theives around here. i never had the stock heat shield cause when i got the bare motor it was crushed from shipping so i had to get a stock 205 one. also im surprise you even notice the heat shield cause i did too. thats good you care less cause i care less too..and please dont say i use these excuses to cover up anything cause if you was my buddies you would have been there when i got my motor. sorry i dont have people like you guys that know everything.. all i know is that i work on my motor myself and figure out things on my own. i just dont send it out and then read about my motor and bust people out when they dont say the right thing...so please dont take this to the heart we are all 6gc owners here and know our own motors....we know what we can do and what we cant. some people just dont have the time, money, and thing to show everyone what they can get and brag about it.

The factory anti-lag is not activated. You can still have the tubes and everything in place and not affect drive abilty. Just a little FYI. So you put the stock st205 heat shield over the WRC exhaust manifold and anti-lag tubes?

There is nothing wrong with having Manny do work for us....so many members here have or would have him help if they had a chance..Whats wrong with having him work on it when we no he is gonna get it done faster and he is gonna get it done right...and he teaches us everything..he has thought us so much.
With reading this post over and over something just doesnt seem right...I mean where are the dyno sheets and the pictures...you keep saying over and over your gonna post them so then just post them...See thats why you have a problem with us(Me Manny Jim Dustin Steff) who ever else..bc we dont sit here talking we just do...in no way do any of us brag we are just happy with what we have and we like to help other members out so we post up complete details of our set ups and how we went about doing it. You didnt want the anitlag manifold? Why not? I am personally offend bc you make it out to be bad to have someone help you with your setup...in that case every member here who has asked for help is not as capable as you are..and I guess you are better then the rest and that's why you don't post up your threads on everything you do..bc the threads of your setup are to good for the members here to learn off of. In no way am I jealous of ur setup or amazed by it...I enjoy reading about real people who think of different things to make there celica stand out...it might be with a turbo .. or ...with a paint job .. or ...with a radio .. or ...with doing something different with the lights..I enjoy reading that thread and getting a good feeling while reading it bc you can tell how proud the member is for doing something to there car. You may or may not have a wrc to be honest I don't care it doesn't change what I have it doesnt make my car less of a car nor does it make Jim's but you just enjoy driving you wrc...Because your the only person that has to enjoy your car...to me I still feel like your trying to convince yourself that you have something amazing that your driving. Just be happy with what you got. -------------------- |

i love the way you talk shannon why cant people just talk logic like you ?? i myself dont care what everyone else have have on here i was just tryin to state to everyone and to let everyone know that yes a wrc st205 turbo has a steel turbine..and of course i would love for pressure to work on my car, but see we up north dont have that luxury to do so or everyone else. and yes we all love the way you post all of yah cool stuff on the forums and yes my bad for not having a better picture of the dyno sheet and yeah maybe ill prove yah wrong..but yes i didnt want the anti-lag cause like i said i use my car as a daily driver and yeah it does rune turbos and yes i am just a person who doesnt have all the money in the world to just buy turbos...and i dont have any other cars...and yes i do help everyone with there set up, what i know..but i dont have time to do all that stuff. if the car was there i would be able to help them out. like you Manny Jim Dustin Steff....
ooh yeah did i ever post it on here over and over that i was going to post my sheet i just did since people are so much in a rush there u go..sorry its so small. but yeah ill do it again when i have time..remember when i have time. ill do it just for yah to see..so please dont hate me we are all family and help each other out here..i dont put anyone down on here..i dont say im the best i dont say that i know everything i just say..please do not put me down cause im not a friend and cause i dont post everything i have.. trust me i do have all of that..and yes i do give props to people that do give there ideas out.. ooh yeah i dont have anything to be amazed about i just have a car that is dead and waiting to be alive....thats not amasing its pretting sad to me... so if yah want delete what i said and what i posted on this tread cause i maybe, just runed it for yah...so please do get mad and just rag on me for your right of mind cause if you see me i do have the things to prove it..alot of love to both of yah 6gc onwers you and jim...!!!! ![]() -------------------- ![]() |

I never said I didnt believe you..I just feel like you are putting both Jim and I down for having Manny do our work...so I responded the only way I could...Jim and I dont have money to be throwing around either believe me...we were just lucky to have Manny help us when our tire fell off at the csp meet a few years ago since then we became good friends...Jim also was doing all the work on this swap but him and Manny worked out a deal so Manny took over..I think its better bc he will be able to do it better then we ever could.
Again I really dont want to be negative or didnt want to be I am sorry but I felt personally attacked. sorry I blew up to that extent.. ooo and can you explain this "i love the way you talk shannon why cant people just talk logic like you ?? " was that sarcastic..what do you mean by it? im over this if you are -------------------- |

how can you tell if its not a wrc or not.. not to say that your the only one that has the wrc on here but yes i do have one..and from the picture you cant tell nothing from it Jim has done a lot of homework, that's why he can tell with one pic. I remember seeing pics of your motor when you were asking questions about plugs and things, I didn't see any WRC things in those pics, but maybe I was wrong. sorry i dont have people like you guys that know everything.. all i know is that i work on my motor myself and figure out things on my own. i just dont send it out I have respect your you for finishing your own swap but I distinctly remember you brought your car to a local tuner shop to have the swap done for you and after too much time there you took the car back with problems, and they're out of business now or something. Not everyone has time to do their own swap as I'm sure you probably didn't (hence you bringing it somewhere to get swapped). Jim is having presure2 do his swap. I can't stress enough how much Jim has learned about his motor and the entire process. Jim also trusts Manny's judgement and experience (for some reason ![]() put this aguement to bed, it's dumb. Running-low, can you post up better pics of your motor/set up, that would end this real easy. -------------------- |

Hey no worries. He's serious. John has a WRC just had to do a lot of stripping down. I can understand where he is coming from because if you order just the motor set like I did you will get a bunch of crushed and dented parts, so being that it is a WRC making it uber rarehe had to settle for less. But its cool. My 2nd gen runs harder than his does. LOL LMAO. lol..... JK bro. Well good luck with the build Jim and Shannon. O btw what is exactly happening to the 2nd gen? Is it going to Manny or is Shannon just going to scrap the 5sfTe and go 3s?

I was refering to these posts http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=47883 http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=49068 I don't remeber reading any about 2nd gen swaps, only the 3rd gen. again, this entire thing is dumb. I just read though a bunch of his old posts and there is no mention of a WRC motor, until this thread. I'm not saying he doesn't have a wrc motor but anyone can say anything and when you can't suppy any pics/proof of anything to back it up, people get suspicious. -------------------- |

John has a wrc.
John's buddy had issues with his gen2 3s. RSmotors took the work, but didn't finish it, and they messed it up. John had a issue with his 3rd gen because he used a 2nd gen "something" but then got everything cleared and now running good. John made 304whp. I've seen and met John. If you guys want to do more research on John. I'm sure ScrowcrowX aka Karl can give it to you, Karl is a god at MR2oc. |

I don't know why you guys are arguing over who has a wrc or not. I mean, who cares? Its still a 3rd gen motor, and doesn't make any more power. It just has a few extra things that are not even functional. Btw running-low, a ct26 manifold will not fit a 3rd gen motor. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

back on topic.
we got jims new clutch disk in last week, and wow, what a diffrence between the 2. the new disk is an ACT stage 3 disk, 6 puck sprung hub. his old disk was a spec stage 2 or 3, i cant remember at the moment. some pics, and notes about the 2 as we go. first, the 2 disks, flywheel side up. ![]() first, the obvious. the ACT disks springs are much larger, and the 6 pad disk, VS the specs smaller springs, and segmented disk. now the problem i had with the spec disk. this is a close up of a spring on the flywheel side. notice how the little tabs that hold the spring in place are VERY worn, and are breaking off in little peices...this is the better of the 2 sides, wait till you see the other side. this clutch only has a couple thousand miles on it, tops. IMO those springs were on theyre way to poping right out. i will be sending these pics over to spec as well, to see what they have to say. ![]() now a pic of the ACT spring (flywheel side) for refrence. notice how the "tabs" are much thicker, and seem to be made in a much stronger fashion in general. ![]() now the PP side. first, the 2 disks together. ![]() now a closeup of a spring on the pressure plate side. again notice the damage to the spring "tab" ![]() the ACT version: ![]() and one more pic of the spec disk, just for the hell of it. ![]() now that we have just about everything we need, im starting to tear into everything and get it all preped to go into the bay. i will have to drill and tap 2 holes for the shifter arm in the LSD tranny jim got, the mounting bosses are there, but no holes, so i will do that tommorow, and continue with the other engine bay, and motor prep stuff i have left to do till the flywheel is done on monday or tuesday, and if all goes as planned the motor will go in next weekend as long as jenn dont have the baby before then!! ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

a few more pics..
so the tranny is converted to FWD, the arm with the 2 bolts in it is the 2 bolt holes i had to drill and tap. i used the stock 10X1.25 thread bolts that were in the tranny in the RWD position, so no worries about it not being strong enough or whatever. ![]() and the shifter cable bracket and speed sensor installed. ![]() now a couple cool pics. since jim has the WRC, which comes from the factory with a water injection system, (not active however) we decided it would be best to just use that location for the WI kit that jim already has installed. we toyed with the idea of using the factory injector, but with jims plans, it will be much easier to control the amount of fluid injected with the aftermarket setup. however, just a few notes and pics of the factory setup, as an FYI for future searches. for all you 2nd gen guys, this will look very familiar. it appears to me that this wi system uses the same "injector" as the 2nd gen cold start injector, and it is installed in the same location as the CSI is on the 2nd gen. it uses the same style c-clip for the plug, and has the same banjo bolt setup, but insead of going to the fuel rail, it attaches to a normal "Vacume" style line, which runs thru the fender to the WW fluid tank. cool stuff. a couple pics of the injector, beside the aftermarket setup: ![]() and a couple of the nozzles: ![]() ![]() tonight, imma go out to the garage, and get the ball joint off the car, that got destroyed when the wheel fell off the car at CSP 06. the bolts that hold the ball joint to the arm rubbed on the ground when the wheel fell off, and it basicly ground the head off...ill prolly end up just cutting the damn thing off. lol pics of that, and the machined flywheel later. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Hella nice work - looks stock as hell - just like I like it! You should see the hack job an older member and I did on his MR2T e153 waaaay back in the day - disgraceful but functional. he didn't care tho I guess - that's just not how I like to work. for all you 2nd gen guys, this will look very familiar. it appears to me that this wi system uses the same "injector" as the 2nd gen cold start injector, and it is installed in the same location as the CSI is on the 2nd gen. it uses the same style c-clip for the plug, and has the same banjo bolt setup, but insead of going to the fuel rail, it attaches to a normal "Vacume" style line, which runs thru the fender to the WW fluid tank. cool stuff. a couple pics of the injector, beside the aftermarket setup: ![]() No sh*t - pretty ingenious of them. Toyota always does cool little stuff like that when they upgrade things - makes it cheaper on them and useful for us as well when we mod stuff. ![]() Keep up the good work and the updates - you guys seem to always be one step ahead of me which helps me when the time comes. My e153 should be on it's way right now as a matter of fact. QUOTE Still got to sort the spacer thing out tho. yea, jims car is an oddball in the fact that with the setup that was in there, he has no spacers, and ::knocks on wood:: never had an axle problem. im just hoping it continues to work as well with the new setup. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

another update,
dustin and steff came by yesterday, and since dustin is the wiring king of JDM guy, he REPINNED the body harness to accept the 205 EA1 plug, which is an awesome thing, since that also includes the intercooler pump wiring ect. i cant stress how cool this is. he also did a wire or 2 for one of the interior plugs. heres a pic of the 205 EA-1 plug, installed in the car: ![]() iirc the pins to the far left are the IC pump and FP stuff, all the others have been pinned in from the stock wiring harness. jim owes D big time for that one..lol we also ended up getting another pressure plate. the spec one got all rusted from getting wet on the ride up here, and to be honest, after the whole spec fiasco, im just glad jim had the money to afford a new PP so, we got him the ACT HD PP, to go with his ACT disk, and got him an OEM throw out bearing: sorry for the blurry pic: ![]() now for a change of pace for a sec, a little exterior. jim is a HUGE fan of the forgmann lip for the '4, so when he saw one on ebay a few weeks ago,he jumped on it. unfortunately, it was located in hong kong, and in order to ship it, it had to be cut in half. he still bought it, and had it shipped here. when i got it, my mouth dropped. it looked like the guy who owned it, hit everything but the lottery with it, it had cracks and splits all over it, both corners that wrap into the fenderwells were cracked, and were being held in place by electrical tape. a few pics of the lip when i got it: ![]() ![]() ![]() between the previous damage, and the thing being cut in half, i was a little worried about how it would look, and more importantly fit once it was fixed. so, i took it into work, and had our best guy work on it. i think he did a pretty damn good job, the pics tell the whole story. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() thats with nothing holding it on, just placed on the car, thats it. the motor goes in this weekend! ![]() -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

![]() i also installed the PS stuff out of the 205, so now that should be all set, installed the new throttle cable as well, and all the brackets on the tranny ect. in a bit im going out to get the motor off the stand to do the rear main, and install the clutch, and joe is gonna come by a little later to help install the tranny (damnit that e153 is heavy compared to the s54!!) and then the motor goes in! -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

the lip was done at my work. (maaco in fall river)
as for the WI, there are a few great threads that explain how and why we use it, here are a couple links. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=44470&hl= a great post by lagos on how he installed WI on his 2nd gen 3s. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=44675&hl= my post about my install. a better thing to do would be to research over on mr2oc, search by user name "califarm" hes had some amazing posts about what he has done with WI, using washer fluid, then straight methanol for LOTS more power over the stock setup. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

no offence or sarcasm, you're right, looks like the inside of intake mani (not tb) could use some cleaning, I'll see what I can do next time I'm over there. From the newer pics (in the bay) the tb looks very clean, my bad.
Little by little hopefully this week I should be able to help Manny get things buttoned up if he can hide out in the garage for a few hours ![]() -------------------- |

Is that even the inside of the TB/intake manifold? I assume you mean the pic death quoted and the round/dark opening in the picture above the WI. Is that even the inside of the TB/IM.....or is it something in the way of the shot? The reason I ask is because that is crystal clear in the picture where everything else seems a little fuzzy.
