you can't sand a carbon fiber hood all the way down, you'll ruin the CF.
a body shop should be able to paint it over and eliminate the gashes for you though. |

x2. Carbon Fiber actually has (surprise surprise) Carbon fibers in it. These don't sand so well; and you'll end up with a bigger mess repairing it.
You can use fiberglass resin to fill in any horrid gashes, otherwise prime and paint. TINY defects can be filled with the prime. Goodluck. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. If you are repairing carbon fiber, i suggest not to use a typical fiberglass resin. Many are not clear or contain UV inhibitors. An Epoxy or Vinyl ester resin for CF is your best bet. (i've seen people end up with brownish yellow cf ![]() |

True true, But i got the notion that he wanted to paint it. That's why i mentioned the cheap stuff
![]() Playr is right. Epoxy resins WILL turn a nice mucus-yellow/brownish color. ![]() -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW!
