hello all im new here and i wanted to say that ive been lurking for the past 3 days looking for answers to my questions but i cant seem to find all f them.
well info on my soon to get 95 celica gt(cuzins old car and my second car). it is virtually stock besides bigger rims and a new head unit. its auto which is the only bad thing but even though its auto its still peppy.

i dunno what to do thugh. i want a turbo car but the eclipse are to finicky an require lots of little things and im a toyota man! i wanted to turbo the stock 5sfe motor but was wondering if yhe stock auto can hold up tp 200hp(if i wanted more than 250hp i would have bought me a corvette lol)?? i want to get a manual trans but then again i like cruise control lol. also what if i swap the engine out for like a 3sgte??? i think that a lightly modded engine of that type would be cool. i think i saw a website on here where they sell a clip from an mr2 for like 1500 bux. and how much would i have to spend to convert an auto 95 gt to a manual(what else would i need?)??? i plan if i do swap over to a 3sgte to build it on a table then just drop the new engine and trans in. and are 3sgte's reliable? also could i pass smog with one? and i dont really want to have to get a stand alone ecu or like an emanage because i dont kno how to tune. so any insight would be really greatful and ive seen lots of really nice 6gc's here and hopefully mine will look cool too! and is there any mods to make the auto trans handle more power? thanks again!

There is nothing bad about auto transmission. That's just a matter of opinion. I Have a 94 GT that is a GT-Four clone. Only it has the GT engine and it's automatic and I love it. hehe..

Got some pictures of your new/used St204

USDM GT? That'd be the 5sfe engine. Turbocharging it is (luckily) explored ground around here. Study up and you should succeed flawlessly. Also; mod Pressure2 is a genius when it comes to the 5sfte. i believe his setup has been running over 3 years w/o a single problem. biggrin.gif Welcome, and good luck! We expect to see great things from you soon wink.gif

Welcome. I'd say since you are in Cali and the laws are so strict - start with the basics [Intake, Exhaust - all smog legal] and then maybe swap to manual [You can keep the CC - it came as an option on manual vehicles]. See where that takes you.
Good luck.

Since you managed to get a '95 (OBD1), you only have to worry about passing the sniffer test and the visual check (EGR). So you could swap in a 2nd gen 3SGTE from a USDM MR2 Turbo or Celica All-trac Turbo, as long as it has EGR.

well thanks all!!

well i like the auto trans but i dunno if it can stand up to turbo power. could it or will it destroy itself?? well ima do the intake and exhaust and all of that then ima slowly build up my turbo engine(if i find the need which i think i will.) the car isnt like in prestine shape the paint is good and the only problem is interior and a rear corner has a little piece missing but ill get pics up asap.

and do you guys know where i can get a car clip with everything?? i would like a place that is here in socal so i can go see it and also pick it up. but on the smog thing if it dont pass then i guess it wont pass lol biggrin.gif . but i have lots of those 495 smogs and i rather have it pass legaly for 5 bux than not to pass but get passed for 100. well thanks but im off to class!

hey what engine can i swap into my celica? i heard that i have to swap a newer engine to pass smog. would a engine of the same year be okay?? i was planning on swaping out the 5sfe for a 1995 3sgt3 from an Mr2. woud that be possible and its a USDM Mr2 engine or would i have to get a JDm engine of newer date? as i am confused with this swapping lol.
