I use to see the YelliCeli all the time because the kid who bought it lived somewhere around my area... actually graduated from the same high school and class together lol
Made me sad inside most the time I saw it because it was usually dirty, and every now and then I'd see him deliver pizzas in the car. I dont think he realized how much that little car meant to all of us.

Now it makes sense why I havent seen the YelliCeli in quite some time...

I was pretty bummed to see the 1st coupe featured ride in such a sad state. He is not to much
into the celicas as he thought my car was a real gtfour. The whole thing really kinda sucks.

It is too bad... I joined this site 5 months before I actually got my 6gc... I actually started having dreams about the yelli celi before I got my car, I got so obsessed with it. It's actually the very car that inspired me to start doing my own mods on my car. There's just something about that engine bay that I found completely inspiring. It's even my long term goal to swap in a 20v... black top.

I agree don't go knocking other people's choice in vehicles, think of it in a more positive light. The Yeli Celi is for sale, at a reasonable price. Someone grab a cheap DA Teggy (with the B18A its perfect. It will handle a fair amount of boost and there is no V-tec to worry about.), boost it and offer it to this kid

See it as an opportunity, this is probably a good chance to get the Yeli celi back into the hands of one of the members on our site (or one of our friends)

Hey guys,

I changed my password on my regular account, and now I can't log in, so I had to make this "temp" account


I spoke with the guy for a while yesterday, and from what I gathered the car went like this:

Coomer
Me
Zach (vaughnz) - traded for a crotch rocket with next person
Jeff (6gcjeffjeff) - traded for a truck with current person
Roland (ROLAND) - current owner, and seems to be taking care of the problems the last two created

When I spoke with him told me he was a mechanic and also did autobody. He had said he had the head done up, and put in new pistons and rings, along with new cams. He is repainting the front end with the same John Deere Yellow, and seems to be selling only because he lives on a gravel road and doesn't want to tear the car up. I pleaded with him to at least come here and post in this thread to let everyone know whats going on, and put it up for sale here so that it stays in the community.

I made the mistake of selling it to someone who lied about their commitment to the online community and who ultimately trashed the car, and I feel bad every time someone spots it around here in such bad condition. If you're interested in the car send a PM to ROLAND and let him know.

I am going to meet him and the Yelli Celi this weekend. I'll give it a look over and I'll let you guys know how it fairs. Seems like the current owner has been doing a lot of work to correct the neglect from the past two.

I don't get it...what's interesting is that I've never actually seen photos of the engine bay besides ones I've taken, and haven't seen photos of it since it left Matt's hands (besides my own that I've taken). And it seems to get more expensive each time it gets passed.

Perhaps they think you're an extraordinary photographer. Either that or it doesn't look so good anymore I've also noticed that it gets more expensive each time. I wish someone would just appreciate and care for it like you did; like we all care for our cars. After all it's not just a car, it spawned this whole website, its a legend (to us, or to me anyway).
