what is the most common year people swap 3sgte into their 6 gen celicas? i have a 99 but i heard it's gonna be hard to smog it since i live in cali.

In my opinion, 99's still worth a lot, maybe 6000, 7000 dollars. Since you're gonna put in a new engine, you can basically get a dying 94' for around a 1000 dollars and then do your magic.

^wow, that is pretty slick. If you have a second vehicle to drive for the time being, then I would sell the 99 and buy a blown 199X doesn't really matter the year for under 2000. But if you are worried about smog, then get pre OBD2. If you can get 6000+ for your car, you can do a 3s swap into a blown motor 6th gen for practically 0 money out of your pocket. Sounds like a good idea to me. FYI GEN3 FOR THE WIN
