OMG
Wow, I'm not the only one.
I thought I was going to be the only one who was curious of them.

When I saw it the first thing I thought to myself if "I'd like to see what happens when it gets t-boned by a hummer"

I've never seen carbon-fibre in a car accident before (unless you count racing prototypes.), let alone a car made completely of carbon fibre. I'm curious how an all carbon fibre would hold up against like fender benders and common accidents.

Maybe thats a tangent that shouldn't be explored. wink.gif

I like the car but I find it completely unnecessary, I would not any nut for it. tongue.gif

Carbon Fiber in an accident shatters and splinters everywhere.
however the exo isn't as important as the frame below it in a crash.
wouldn't give a nut for it, but it seriously serves an excellent purpose.

hmmm I dunno, it seems almost too fast for practical street use.... Its almost bordering on prototype race car and for the hypothetical cost of the vehicle I'll settle for an old R8 or R10 as a comparable track beater wink.gif

its not practical street use laugh.gif why would you even THINK that about a super car?! gtfo of the thread.

the point of these cars is the look, the style, the image, the out right performance level the give.
You take it to the exclusive membership racetrack which costs more than you'll make in 5 years at your highest salary and see what she does, then you show up to the $2000 a plate charity diner for someone you could careless about.

They are born and bred super cars to push the "street legal" production top speed and handling limits (ie push the rules as far as they go) as well as look better then anything out there.

street practicality.....pfffft get your grocery getting a$$ back to the kitchen. laugh.gif

They have had the CCXR out for awhile now. The Koenigsegg is my fav car these days. As for how well does it hold up in an accident, on topgear they tested a Koenigsegg CCX that has a carbon fiber front bumper on it and the stig lost controll coming out of the straights and went off the track. The front bumper held up better than i thought..but at the same time, carbon fiber if weaved properly (i imagine the koenigsegg would be) is stronger then steel. But any ways..check out the video of the CCX crashing...
HERE

and the CCXR...
HERE

EDIT: BTW..that 1018HP..thats running it on Bioethonal. Gas that you can get here..like 104octane...or 94 octane..ur making more like 800ish HP. If your in europe where they have higher octane gas, or any of the bio fuels...it will make the 1018hp.

EDIT AGAIN: I found a video of a sideimpact test of a CC8S..the model before the CCX and CCXR..but pretty much built the same.

I think Koeniggsegg offers CF wheels as an option for their road production cars.

Indeed its not. But If I had to abuse one of them as my daily driver, I prefer the Zonda. Also, I've always like them, they have a very different look from the average super-car shape plus they were in Gran Turismo which lets admit was pretty important to import culture. (Without it, I would probably be one of those D-bag domestic kids driving a suped up cavalier or a truck since my dad was socialized to be)

Besides, I'm looking at this from a hypothetical framework. It would still be a garage queen (or in my case a yard queen since the garage is full of crap) to me and I would never find a use for it. But I've since become a bit more lax in my criticism of super cars. I mean, I understand their function now, which is to sit in a private collectors garage (sultan of Brunei) collecting dust while the rest of us can only dream of driving a car that fast.

Don't take much offence to the above paragraph, whenever I criticize a vehicle I am mostly nitpicking and being cynical because its fun sometimes.

That's pretty crazy and I can appreciate it, though for what it's worth, I am not a big fan of carbon. To me, that was a thing of the past, and got played out before I even had a shot at trying to get it. It is nice to have though for those of you who do have or obtain it. Most certainly you get points for it. More than likely, you won't find me doing it unless I am serious about the weight of the car and is 100% on the track.
