Hi guys, appreciate your help in previous posts!
got a question with regards to my celicas belts. 1) what is the difference between the CAM belt and Timing belt? is it the same thing? 2) Also the belt that i have - i do not know when it was changed. I have a full service history from the last 10 years on my 97 Celica ST. But i do not see anywhere it mentioned about the cam belt being changed. I do not want to take chances and screwing up my ride. The belt on inspections looks new - and the thread is deep, but i amn know mechanic so dont know the deal. Thanks!! |

Toyota recommends every 60k. However I had mine replaced at just over 200k and have every reason to believe it was the original belt.

you should replace them no later than 100k. 60k-100k is a premier interval

Even if the belt snapped, it wouldn't matter right? I think our cars have non-interference heads right? 96 Celica GT
