head swaps cost as much as engine swaps

you will need everything from the other engine except for the block pretty much. and that includes the wire harness, sensors, and most likely intake and exhaust manifolds(maybe not the exhaust manifold)

so you would be buying a complete performance engine, and only using parts of it to make an engine that will not be as good that the parts engine you bought

it would be worth it to do the tranny swap

just get the 3s-ge tranny that should hold the 3s-gte power just fine.

custom ECU solves that problem.

but yea, it wount just bolt on.

just get the 5sfe head ported and polished. get a cam regrind and new valves and valve springs and retainers and a custom intake manifold. that should ad some power

Web Cams Hardweld (glad you brought that up) know you suppose they send you the new ones and you have to send them your old ones. Cuase Im not looking forward to not having a car for 2 weeks. That would be my favorite mod If I can find a mechanic competent enough to work on them.

cams are really easy to install. just have to have a pro time them correctly. the single cam gear setup of the 7afe and 5sfe do make cam timing pretty easy tho.

Cams are the best thing you can ever do to the 5sfe other that boosting it plain and simple. But,.... in order to get the most out of them you would have to get your head gasket matched bigger valves and such.

Webcams takes your cams and sends you another set then hard welds yours and sells them to the next person. You can however buy cams from them you will just have to pay the extra 200 dollars for the core charge.

Ferra makes valves and springs for the 5sfe but will only sell to a machine shop. They also cost $$$$

If you really want to do the 5sgte/5sge then your adventure should start here........how to put a 3sgte head on a 5sfe
