Loan or lien? is that good thing ....other then that everything came clean though the last report to carfax was in 06....
its an RSX-S with 54,000 miles for 12grand

also are there any things i should do when purchasing a used car??? how do i take it to a mechanic if i dont have one and the place where teh car is about 150miles away.....
im planning to go with my friend as he knows how to drive stick

It just means the owner had a loan on the car. Don't worry about it.

As for a shop to look at it, ask the dealer for the notes from their inspection, and find a shop in a 15-20 mile radius of the dealership and schedule a quick inspection. Get their notes, and compare against the dealership.

I guess I was fortunate, because when I bought my WRX I took it down the road to the tuning shop that rewired the Yelli Celi for me and had the owner personally inspect it with me.

make sure it's a clear title when you get it though, if it still has a lien on it you could get stuck with someone's loan

I'm assuming it's at a dealership, in which case the loan is taken care of.


But if it is private party, then yes, make sure you don't get stuck here - but most banks/credit unions won't let that happen to you. They have to approve the entire transaction before they'll cut the check.

If you like the RSX then give'r. I did a co-op at an acura dealership (I think I've said this story about 150 times) and I used to have to deal with a lot of RSXs. They're not really problematic, most were in for oil changes... there were a few that had massively ****ed up problems. I think we had to disassemble the entire engine bay of one and rewire it for a reason that completely slipped my mind. I just remember because there was little bits of K20 everywhere. I never heard much about the 3rd gear syncros but I was there in like 2k5, they oldest RSX at that point was only 3 or 4 years old.

I need to stop referencing that. Hahaha.

just make sure u have a good mechanic look at it...ie don't let the guy choose the mechanic unless u really trust him...
