People drive turbo'd cars daily all the time. Just keep the boost low for DD, you can't turn it off (unless you took off the turbo lol). For me personally, I'd be more worried about RWD for DD b/c we get a lot of rain up here. But since your in Cali, you should be ok.

True... there's always that. Way to look on the bright side!

OP: Google "how does turbo work in cars" and read away.

Your right foot is a boost controller BTW. Trust me - going from either the 5S-FE or the 7A-FE to a 3S-GTE - there is plenty of off boost power - you'll feel a gain in power without ever hitting boost. It's all in throttle control.

"Can you turn boost off?" laugh.gif

But don't buy it, really, if he's asking cash. That's just his way of making sure you can't ever do anything if something goes wrong right after, and it probably will.

I run recirc, so I don't get the cool chirping. Subarus hate atmospheric BOV's.

But I <3 my turbo.

I didn't see how much he was willing to sell it for. But there is a place in San Diego (a dealership) that has one on 15lbs of boost with an hks bov and some other things like rims and stuck but with pretty much a stock exterior for $5k. I am sure you can talk them down another $1k or so. I think it was Sahara Auto Sales. I wanted to get that one, but I am only going to be able to put $3k into it. I was going to use that as a down payment for that GT4 Clone, but since dude won't let me put down a down payment "Cuz his wife said", I am just going to buy a MR2 turbo and keep with plans for my GT4 clone.

Turbo cars are much different from a normal car. . They actualy produce power by taking air from your tires and feed it into your engine. Thats why you always hear people talking about PSI. If someone tells you that they are running 20psi, then that means that they still have a good amount of psi left, but if they tell you that they are running 7psi, then you know thats gay because their tires are almost flat and they need to be refilled asap.

As long as you keep that in mind, you should have no problems.

Not at all. 10psi is still enough to drive on. It just means you need to refill asap and get boost boosting on that boosted motor of yours. Just remember not to over fill the tires or else your boost will over boost and blow your boosted motor. If you fail to do that, then yes, you will be totally gay.
