I was wondering if those who have replaced their passenger side axle with a new or remanufactured one ran into this problem. Did the one you purchase come with the bracket (bearing) where the two bolts are to be screwed in.

the ones i found at pepboys and o'reilly and Napa does not come with that bracket. When i had replaced it a 3 years back - i did not remember removing that bracket from old one to new one. I believe it came with the one i purchased. The store said I would have to remove the bracket from the old one, but it seems difficult to remove. Any help is appreciated

if it didnt come with one on the new axle, you'll need to have the old one pressed off the old axle then installed on the new one.

it "should" come with a new one tho...are you sure its the right axle?

comparing side by side - its identical except without the bracket -- the only thing i was able to do was have the sales guy double check because I thought it was the wrong part too - but he confirmed several times -- even the online picture from napaonline.com shows it without the bracket. I'm not sure where I purchased mine last time, wished i could remember so I would reorder one from the same place.

Thanks

found the solution - after looking at the toyota axle diagram - there's a snap ring that you have to remove before you can hammer it out - off to the store to pick up the new part - thanks for the input though
