in regards to the conversion, is the GT4 rear axle/suspension the same setup as the GT's?

mostly wondering if the rear subframe is the same or not.

no, one is AWD, one is not.
they do not share the same suspension.

hmm...

I know the suspension is different....basically, can you take the AWD rear end and mount it up to the GT subframe? or would you have to swap out the whole subframe?

In short no.

there is heaps of differences. Just one being fuel tank location/size.
Not to mention the boot on the four is shallower to accommodate the diff hosing, diff fuel tank location etc.

also worth noting the four has extra bracing build in from the factory to help the chassis cope with more power and drive at the arse end too.

acutally, it really dont.

the only real diffrence in the 2 is the floorpan,(from the hump back) and the 2 rear lower sections of the strut towers.

So i'd have to go ahead and swap out the subframes as the easiest option? they bolted on or welded?

comming from all your gtfour experience pressure?

they have extra bracing around the strut tower, top and bottom.

the whole floorpan is different.

I doubt highly there would be enough room under the poverty pack floor to accomodate the subframe/diff etc . Might have to cut the floor out and weld it in a higher position. Someone on here has done it so they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Obviously the floor is part of the car/welded in, but the subframes are welded in.

seriously just do it properly and get a four. They came out in lhd, much less dodgy.

EDIT: ill just add that ive only ever delt with Group A Rallye (mine) and a couple of imported WRC that i have worked on, but all of these have extra bracing then the poverty pack ST204's here, prehaps the non wrc/group a 205's dont have the bracing but i seriously doubt it.

no, from my EPC experience, which has VERY nice detailed pics.. wink.gif
like i said...the floorpan, basiclyfrom the back of the front seats back, and the rear lower strut towers.
