hi i am in the process of installing a 5sfe out of a 92 into my 94 gt!! everything seems to be fitting up fine besides changing a few sensors...the problem i have ran into is there is a sensor on the back of the block i believe by the number 3 cyl that doesnt exist on the 92 engine the is also one that twists in somewhere close to the dist i believe that the 92 doesnt have....should my car run without these? any help would be of use on this.... thanks

Going off the top of my head here. The sensor @ No3 cylinder will be the knock sensor. Not sure about the other, haven't worked on a 5sfe.

I'm sure the others will be able to give more info, and correct me if I'm wrong. biggrin.gif

would i be able to plug in and use my ecu from my 92? are the plugs the same? would this eliminate probs or create more?

i told you using the older motor was a bad idea.
the first thing is it dont have a knock sensor.

you can screw the knock sensor into a bolt hole in the back of the block somewhere, it wont work too good, but at least you wont have a CEL.

that second one looks like an EGR temp sensor. did you use the 94 intake manifold?
if not, you have to.

and no, you cant use the 92 ecu in 94+ car.

i had to use this engine as i dont have the funds to buy a newer one...and the person that offerd to sell me one affordable backed out on me.....i will go change the intake manifold no biggie as long as i can get this going and have some transportation for now until i can get a better engine!! i have not changed the intake but i will go do that today while both engines are out....

take a GOOD hard look at the 2 engines, anything that looks even SLIGHTLY diffrent, swap over.

water necks, distributor, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, egr assebely (its attached to the intake manifold) all that stuff needs to be swaped from the 94 motor, along with the harness.
