Hi,
Currently, my car is torn apart and I'm trying to remove the stock shifter so that I can install the TRD QuickShifter. I've almost got the old assembly out, but I can't figure out how to remove the two shift cables that are marked in the photo below. ![]() If anyone knows how to get these out of the old shifter assembly(and install them in the new shifter), I'd really, really appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks in advance! -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

dude..to take them out just use a pair of pliers and pull up and side to side at the same time...reverse for re-install...no biggie..ohh and dont forget to put the metal spacers UNDER the shifter assy!
hope that helps!!! This post has been edited by presure2: Jan 11, 2003 - 3:24 PM -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

Trying to get the A/C Heater Unit out seems like a real pain in the butt.
I wanted to do this in order to paint the panels but I gave up. There appears to be 2 cables that run into the back of the unit which, as I don't have a manual, I have no idea what they are for nor how they are fixed on. If some has the solution...I sure as hell would like to know too. |

I haven't had any time to work on this lately, because it's always dark when I get home from work. On sunday or monday I hope to work on this and see if I can get it in. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I got them from SoundDomain.com for a very good price due to their price match policy. Also, if any of you are wondering, I finally got my TRD QuickShifter installed today. It took a lot of work to get the stock shifter assembly out without without taking the knee panels out, but I finally got it. The new shifter is so much better than stock! -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Yep, I ended up taking out the two screws closest to the back seat in the knee panel piece, and then I ended up cutting that plastic bar in the middle in half, because it's not really necessary for anything. The center console holds it in place just fine. Once that was cut, I was able to get the old shift assembly out and get the new one in fairly easily. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
