i have no idea. How much can you get one of those engines for anyway? Aren't they like 180hp at the crank and probaly 165 at the ground or so??? I think that it would be cost effective to get the 3S-GTE.

The 1ZZ-FE in the Corolla and Celica GT is mounted backwards. If you look at it the intake manifold is in the front of the engine compartment. I considered doing this because my friends 99 Corolla hauls ass, but it would be complicated and time consuming. Your best bet would be to go with the new 2.4L Camry motor (2A-ZFE). It has more HP (157) and more torque(165 lb/ft I believe) than the 5SFE, 7AFE, and the 1ZZFE in the Corolla.

It is better to go with a 3SGE or 3SGTE.

Call Toysports an get a quote on both engines.

Do not waste time with other engines unless you are looking for a nice slow project to work on.

Wait! What is this 2A-ZFE. That sounds like another direct swap for the 7A. and If I'm not mistaken, it's in america. Correct?

ok you all, any engine that is in a current toyota car in production is gonna be like 10-12K to get one. like the 7th gen celica GT-S engine is like 12 grand. it's possible, but not costeffective.

Why is everyone still trying to waste wime with the newer engine whicl there sucks? mad.gif

Why are you looking for alternative to the 3SGE & 3SGTE when there are proven race engines and can be easily modified cheaply? confused.gif

Those engines are no way capable as the SG engines mention above.

All engines with G are high perfomance engines. All F engine are economy engines. There are suited for nannies.

Stop wasting time on lame engines and contact toyport.com or you nearest wreck yard for a SG engine redface.gif

4AGE, 4AGE 20v, 4AGZE, 3SGE, 3SGTE, 2JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GE, 1JZ-GTE, 1JZ-GE.

All are high performance while the 4AFE, 3SFE, 5SFE, 7AFE are all economical engines, hence low rpm torque, low redline rpm.

that's a waste of time and money. it's more work than a swap... if you are going to have to rewire the entire car anyway, which you have to do for a head swap, you might as well just get a whole engine.
