ALRIGHT! this will def. be a long time project for me but i will be done. so i have been lurking on mr2oc for a while and looking at dyno sheets and other peoples set ups and this is what i have come up with for MY build:

GOAL: 350hp daily driven and de tuned
-stock 1995 5sfe block
-gen 2 3sgte head with stock cams with gasket match and mild port and polish, valve job and rebuilt
-possibly +1mm over sized valves
-stock 3sgt3 rods OR if i can locate and ebay special on them eagle h-beams
-will be using stock 5s crank machined to fit the 3s sized rods
-all ARP hardware
-HKS cam gears
-CP pistons for stock bore (8.5:1)
-850cc injectors
-and the turbo that everyone seems to be running is the gt35 and 35r at

that's the BASICS of the engine. the head work will start within the next week or so after i get it disassembled
if you all have any concerns/ comments/ questions feel more than free to put in your 2cents...just keep the flames suppressed

* if you're using a 5sfe block try and stick with the 98+ blocks, they're a little better in a few manners
* for your power levels and even up to arond 500rwhp you dont need oversized cams or port/polish. Just do a valve job and make sure the head/block surfaces are good
* stock 3sgte rods are fine for your purposes
* stick with either a stock headgasket or a TTE headgasket. From my experience they seal the best
* unless you're going with larger cams, you don't need aftermarket cam gears
* use the 800cc drop in SARD sidefeed injectors (low impedence version) 100% direct fit
* get an upgraded fuel rail. A bored stock rail is a good option for 800cc injectors
* gt35r is not only too big, but a bad choice if you're looking for 350rwhp on pump gas. You'll just have more lag for no reason. You need a smaller turbo.

awesome response--
the only reason for the aftermarket cam gears is that the head i got has no cam gears, so i figured why not.
the gt35 is listed only because it is the most common turbo i have found that [people are using besides the ct26

thanks a bunch for the info though- much appreciated

Have a look at my other 2 threads regarding our 2 new turbo kits. Those are much better options than a gt35r for your goals.
