After having a broken suspension for about a year i finally had the money to get some new parts and some time to install them.

I instaled:

Megan racing lowering springs

KYB GR2's shocks

Driveaxle

shocks and springs:

torn driveaxle:

The suspension installed:

So far i love the feel. been about a month.

How do the megan springs feel? I was kinda iffy cause their so cheap, not saying cheap isn't good. I'm planning to drop in a month.

I broke my digital camera so i wont be able to have any pictures soon.

After the springs and i changed my tire size from 205/60 to 205/50 rim size 15inch. the car itself is sitting quite low has a nice stand. sadly due to the small 15nch rims i have a clear wheel gap. but the suspension feels really good and holds really well on turns.

Awesome, these are very inexpensive springs, so if they perform good i think i might go with them as well!

Do you mind if i ask you how much you paid and where? For the springs..

I have the same setup. Been using them for 6 months. Good stance , about 2 finger gaps in front and back. My front seems to be making clunking noises. Any ideas?

Springs with shipping where 133dollars cause i lived close to the store. I got the shocks from ebay.

Regarding your clunking, most of the time when there is clunking it is either a blown shock or a broken strut mount.

most likely the strut mounts are bad.

I just put some of these springs on myself. Thanks Salica, I wouldn't have known they existed if not for this thread.

I got them for $102 on upscale automotive and it was like $120 shipped to my door. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

They are very comfy springs!

Front gap

Rear gap

I dunno, sorry, these were my first upgrade from stock springs, and i never rode in any other 6gc. If i had to say how they feel though, i'd say slightly firmer than stock.

hey Kamax, do some research on lowering springs stiffness rate. my don't know about how stiff these megan springs are.

I have tanabe df210, pretty low drop. and i wouldn't want to go any stiffer.

order from stiff-stiffer, tanabe df210, tanabe gf210, and tien s springs. tien are really stiff from i've heard sorta like coilovers....

QUOTE (Megan Racing)
Megan Racing springs are made with "SAE 9254," the strongest material from Japan. Our new material will offer a stronger product that is lightweight and corrosion-protected with its phosphate and powder coatings. The result is a spring that specifically offers racecar handling, yet maintains smooth and comfortable ride characteristics. Carefully matched springs rates provide exceptional handling, response, control and balance. Springs lower approximately 2" Front & 1.75" Rear. The lowered center of gravity improves performance and increases stability, as well as enhancing the appearance of the vehicle.

Spec:

- Color: Orange

- Lower rate: 2" Front, 1.75-2" Rear

- Springs rate: 300F & 250R

- MSRP: $149

rates r what I'm looking for, but that's just my personal preference/goal. I'll check Ground Control rates, but then again, you can request spring rates for little to no extra charge.

EDIT: When you order G.C.'s you request your rates, or you can just tell them what kinda driving you do. Ground Control springs for 94-99 Celica

ya he didnt add the spring rate for megan springs.

once somebody finds out the rate for the megan springs the list of the springs rates should be added to the suspension guide sticky

smkrw, do you have a picture before you installed the staggs and megans? It looks like you still have a gap and the megan springs were suppose to lower it 1.6 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Just wondering if it was 4x4 before the new suspension.

These springs are stiff, meaning that they'll hold up the weight of the car well at first. They'll settle within a few months. The rear is very close to actual height and will only sink a half inch; the front should go down another inch, at least.

Regarding your clunking, most of the time when there is clunking it is either a blown shock or a broken strut mount.

most likely the strut mounts are bad.

Have a friend check with you, one bounce the car up and down on each corner and you'll be able to pinpoint what it is. How did he come to the conclusion it was the links.
