Ok so I was doing a normal Oil change on my car and I decided to check my Radiator fluid levels and they all seemed fine but while I was checking out my Radiator I noticed the Upper Tank was starting to show small whitish cracks. I consulted my mechanic friend and he said my radiator was getting old and I'll eventually need to replace it. My question is would I be able to just replace the tanks of should I replace the entire thing?

you can either replace the entire radiator with another one, or take it to a radiator shop and they can repair the upper or lower tanks for you.

Repairs only last for a while - it is inevitable, instead of paying someone to repair, just get it replaced.

Get it replaced with a high flow ally one.

well my current Radiator is a brownish color and you can see the small stress cracks, But my Car's an Auto and I read somewhere that the Manual Models had a different Radiator Design? is that true?

The automatic transmission required a cooler, which attaches to the transmission with a pair of hard lines to the bottom of the radiator. Most aftermarket radiators will have the transmission cooler, and simply leave it capped off when installed in a manual car.
So yes, make sure your new radiator has an oil cooler. |
