anyone know if the GT drivers axle from an auto can work in a manual????

i really need to do my axles and i have my pass. side. Napa for some odd reason doesnt have the driver's side kindasad.gif
i checked the lengths of each in the haynes book and both are similar in length with the auto axle more than a hair longer.

anyone know if this could work?? cuz i dont feel like spending 200+ on an axle and waiting 4 days for it.

anyone know the teeth count for the auto and manual axle?

I just bought a brand new one (not rebuild!) from carquest. It was only 75bucks with core, and is probably the best looking axle ive ever bought.

YEah we have carquest.

checker's/o'reily is the one who qouted me 200+ even with my cousins, Herosblade on here, employee discount.

stupid quantity vs demand crap....and also that Hawaii is just plain to expensive to live biggrin.gif...not much is available for our cars here on the island. most of the stuff i ordered or replaced came from Cali.

Imma call carquest today.

nope.........well i guess cuz its coming from the outer island.

i just called CarQuest and they dont have it, nor does the other stores frown.gif

I called the guy and asked him for axles. Then he was like.........."by anychance you drive the black one with pikachu hanging from the back?"

I was like, "the shiny ass one with a gtfour wing??, yeah that's me biggrin.gif" laugh.gif

He's gonna ask around and call me back if he finds anything.

What was the company that made yours? Mine is CARDONE.
I just put it in today... I should have taken a picture of it compared to the stock one. It looks a lot thicker and stronger then the oem one.

How much would it cost to ship one from the continental US? It sounds like it would be less for you to buy it on line or from someone on here who could pick it up in person and ship it to you. The axle on the CSKOriellies site says it's $104 and about $60 to ship, but there's also a $60 core. But if it's $70 at a Carquest, that would at least save you a little bit after shipping...

Yup mine was cardone as well. It's like 2x thicker than the stock one, the cv boots appear to have one more pleat, it's flat black and looks like it won't give me trouble for a while.

My napa rebuilt one on the passenger side though sucks. I don't know if they overpack the boots or what but it spits out a ton of grease from the clamps. No issues besides that though... Yet.

yup, actually this is my second problem with a napa axle. The first driver side one i had was out-of-round and ate up my new axle seal, as well as spat out a ton of grease. Thats the one i replaced with the super sexy carquest one.

Both the crappy quality and horrible service from the Napa's around here have made me swear to myself to never shop there again. They suck here. thumbsdown.gif
