june18, ok i have reached the end of this day and now i have done what my next step was to do...i bolted up the turbo/flange/manifold...this morning i started taking off the old mani and it took a while to do but got it done...me and my friend tried to put the turbo/flange/manifold in but it was in the way of the fan cover.....so what we did was unbolt the turbo then it made the mani/flange easier to get it....then we tried to put the turbo in....still it didnt want to get in because it was getting in the way of the fan cover....so what i did was trim the cover so that it didnt get in the way.....success its in....after doing that we decided to do the fuel pump...that was a success as well but we didnt have the soldering iron so my friend took it home to do that for me and tomorrow we should have that done an put in...after that we decided to try and mount my front mount...we didnt get that done yet but we made brackets for it so that when we have the right tools and stuff we can get that on....since i still have my injen intake, i didnt want to throw it a way to we made use of it...dont worry you guys will see wink.gif .....hehe i ran into the same problem like everyone else....THE OIL FILTER...its in the way to where my wastegate is supposed to be and now i know why you 5sfte guys relocate your oil filters...i thought that you could just have the wastegate in without relocating the oil filter but i was wrong...i went to NAPA auto parts and they have an oil filter relocation kit but all i have to do is just make custom lines.....idk should i get it i mean it might be cheaper than buying it online since i live all the way in maui?need help with this...soOOOOo thats it for today...oh yah my wideband came in today....siiick..ok dudes more updating to come....

You only need to relocate your oil filter IF you use the Ebay CT26-T3 adapter. If you use an adapter like this one:

There is no need to relocate your oil filter. But this comes at a price. The Ebay adapter can be had for around 50$......This adapter sells for around 350$.

If you dont mind doing a bit of welding, this adapter can ge had for about 175$.....but you need to weld on your own wastegate tube and flange.

it really depends on what you wanna use, and where you are planning on mounting the filter for the relocation.

a generic parts like would look somthing like this to give you an idea.

canton block adapter
x4 1/2npt to -10 fittings
x4 -10 hose ends where you mount the filter will dictate what style fittings you will need. i use 2 straight ones, and 2 90* swivel ends.
-10 stainless braided hose
transdapt filter adapter
teflon tape (never use teflon tape on a -an fitting. only on the NPT fittings.)
you can get everything from summitracing or any place like that. (although im not sure if they sell canton stuff, if they dont you can get it right from canton. or you can get the moroso one that summit sells, its the same thing basicly)
good luck with the project.

ok dudes more updating...today this morning i didnt have my cell so i couldnt contact any of my friends to come down and help me today.... frown.gif and so im all alone....first i really wanted to concentrate on my boost gauge because i only bought the gauge all by its self without the tubing and everything else for 50.....so on with the search for my tubing....a couple of days ago i went to napa auto parts and tried to find the tubing there....they said they didnt have it but they did find the fitting stuff i needed to put the tubing in the gauge...after that ,today i went to checkers to find my pcv that i broke....luckly they had it in stock so i got that and i also bought a thicker hose for my boost controller,my bov, and also my external wastegate...ok then i went searching for the tubing for my boost gauge so i went to ace hardware and no luck there but this guy that worked there told me to go to car quest because they should have what im looking for....so i drove all the way to wailuku industrial and come to find out that they changed there name AND they are located in kahului.(sorry for those whos never been to maui) so i drove all the way back town and found this big white building and it was an auto store....at the end of the store was a sign that said TUBING REPAIR....jack pot!! i found what the place....so i went in and showed my gauge and they brought out the tubing that was the right size and everything...i bought 10 feet of tubing all for only 75....cents!....ok now i went to Lowes and made my three sided tee nipple to plug in the vacuum line....i went home and time for work...i cut one of my vacuum lines then put the tee in between...then i attached the small tubing for my gauge on and ran it through my fender....then i attached it to the tee and all was good....next i needed wires for my light on my gauge so i went to radio shack and got that fixed...i also atached my power to the fuse that connects to my parking lights so that the light only goes on when i make that click to turn on the parking lights.....that was all success full....while i still had time in my hands i decided to connect to tubing for my manual boost controller....since my mbc is mounted in the front i couldnt find a vacuum line close by and then BOOM i looked at my turbo and a fitting was already attached to the turbo outlet....i saw that before because my friend had his external wastegate line attached to it and he told me that it was a vacuum line too! so i took the fitting out of the turbo outlet because i have a nipple fitting that was included with my mbc.....i checked the two sizes and WALLA what do you know...they both same....so i swaped fittings to the nipple....then i attached the line and connected it to the mbc....success.....so far so good....oh yah i also put teflon on all fittings to the oil lines to prevent any leaks.....allright dudes thats it for more up dating to come....shoots!

ok not much done today....after work i tried to get my wastegate on....tip: for you 5sfte dudes who dont have an oil relocation kit on and have that problem of the oil filter getting in the way of your wastegate then you can buy a dump tube+elbow from ebay....the elbow that includes with your dump tube can be used to relocate your wastegate! it works for me,but like pressure says you would have to remove your wastegate in order to change your filter....in my case in going to wait till i ship my car to vegas to do that oil filter relocation kit...because i dont have enough time to order a relocation kit at the moment because i just need to get my car done b4 july 1st if not then atleast july 14....thats the day i will be shipping me car....well more up dating to come...idk if i going have pictures of my progress...i might just have pictures of when its done....sorry guys...shoots!

at least you dont have a big pressure sensor hanging off it.
what i meant by cook the oil is the heat in that pipe by the oil filter is gonna heat it up, and basicly cook the oil in the filter.

ok dudes time for updating...today was a good day...the first thing i did was call up my friend that helped me remove my oil pan so that he can brasse the nipple for my oil return line... he took it this morning to go and do that... the mean time my other friend helped my with my interior he helped me with my neo by double checking all the wires to see if they are good then he helped me put all the panels that we took off from the interior back on....and i also put on my new shift nob...greddy!...it looks berry sexxy now...after that we went to napa auto parts to get all the part i need to service, spark plugs, lights bulbs, double stick tape, ect. then by the time i got back home my friend who did my oil pan was finished and it looks cherry...we put my oil pan back on and i also put double stick tape to mount my safc neo....then i double stick taped and screwed on my loteck 3 piller gauge...cherrry...and after all that was put on i got my celi ready for the exhaust shop....i called the shop and made the appointment for 8 am first thing in the morning....then my gf dad brought his trailer and a couple of my friends helped me push my celi on....now its just sitting in the trailer till tomorrow... ok dudes now for more up dating laters... shoots my sistas and braddahs!

hmm i had a problem like this lol for me it was the map sensor. but it is also possible you could have accidentally f*cked up your timing. what size injectors did u get tho? and are they low impedance or high impedance?

all the initial setting should be set to:

4 cylinder
throttle is the up arrow
Set to pressure
in 1 out 1
Low throttle set to 20% and high throttle set to 30%

When I have time later this after noon, I will play with Shannons and give you a better description on how to get everywhere.

Then check your timing, make sure that's correct.

Then check your injectors if the car still doesn't start. They cannot be just RX7 460cc injectors, they MUST be RX7 460cc Injectors with the last 4 digits ending in 2010 (if they end in 1350, you purchased the wrong injector for your setup.)

If all the above check out, then it sounds like your map sensor.

^^^ yep. i got the wrong ones the first time around too. but i never installed them. also i suggest selling the S-AFC and getting the AEM FIC. that way you can control timing too and have a safer ride. read up on my 5S-FTE build

You have a AEM wideband : USE IT!!! What's your AFR while idling? This is the best tool money can buy for tuning an engine, use it!

why shouldnt he have "bought the neo"?

its got 4 more rpm points, and a cool display, but you loose the knock count feature.
it really dont make a diffrence either way.
the SAFC NEO will do the same job the SAFCII will do.

There is nothing wrong with the NEO.

Set up your RPM points and pull 20% fuel from your lowest RPM setting to about 1500rpms, then try restarting your car. Wait for the car to warm up, and continue to pull fuel until you see better AFR's from your Wideband.

14.7-15 are Perfect AFR's.

It has nothing to do with knock "response" as neither the SAFCII or the NEO will "respond" to knock. The SAFCII shows you a "knock/noise value", but doesnt respond to it. Basically useless.

Go into Settings....then air map.....then use the "select button" to scroll between high and low throttle. Once you are on low throttle, use the "left and right buttons" to scroll through the RPM points. Once at your desired RPM points (first few up to about 2000rpms) use the "up and down buttons" to pull "fuel". You are going to want negative values here.....(-20%)

By pulling 20% (-20%) in the first few spots up until 2000rpms should allow your car to keep a constant idle without stalling out. If it can in fact keep an idle long enough to get the car all warmed up, you can start pulling fuel until your AFR's look a bit more normal.

And I'm also having another problem... My safc stopped working ...we checked all the connections and nothing...

Yes, you want to have your stock o2 Sensor in and working.

Check the grounds for the wiring to the SAFC.

you will want to keep them both, but you may need to fool the one after the cat as it might throw a CEL. do this with the antifouler trick its pretty easy.

Yes, you want to have your stock o2 Sensor in and working.

Check the grounds for the wiring to the SAFC.

Do I want to keep the one before or after the cat?

You HAVE to keep the one Before the cat.

Will it make a diff if I used the one after? Cuz I got the bung for it

You HAVE to hook the factory 2 bolt o2 Sensor back up, period. If you bought a bung for the "second" o2 sensor that was after the factory cat, feel free to ADD (meaning your factory 2 bolt o2 is already in place) that as well.

The lack of Knock response kills it for me

It has nothing to do with knock "response" as neither the SAFCII or the NEO will "respond" to knock. The SAFCII shows you a "knock/noise value", but doesnt respond to it. Basically useless.

That's what I meant - poor choice of words. But the fact that it shows you the "value" allows you to respond to it by backing off the throttle if you see anything you don't like. On my old setup that was one of the many things I watched frequently and my eyes still naturally move to where I had the SAFC-II mounted - I wish I still had an indication of what that "value" is.
To me this makes the Neo an inferior but prettier version of the same thing. I was unaware it had more RPM points tho - that's a good thing.

hey ok i didnt want to say anything but looking at your ic piping i see something wrong. when u do try and boost or when you get your car running... the air temp sensor plug isnt suppost to go onto your ic piping, hook that up to your turbo inlet or aka turbo intake.... if u hook that up to your ic piping that will either pop out or cause you to have boost leak!..just looking after you man..ooh yeah once again turn your oil feed line to the side or change it so that the sensor is replacing it...just a little input..

RL is wrong.

on our NA cars, that we turbo we WANT that sensor in our IC piping. you need to find a way to create a tight seal so that it dont leak.
since we dont have a MAT, we use the IAT to let the motor know when hot air is coming in so that it uses the compensation maps the stock ECU has to add extra fuel because of the extra heat.
your still stalling out because the car needs to be tuned.
in the low and high throttle map, pull out 20% from 2500 to redline.
that will get you started and running.
as you go thru the RPM range at anything over 30% throttle, you will be on the high throttle map, so that is where you will want to pull fuel.
any time your in boost, you want the a/f to be ~11.5:1
anything out of boost, you want it to be as close to 14.7:1 as you can get it.

This is probably half my fault. John asked me and I agreed that with it setup as it is it's going to blow out of the hole. But I didn't bother to elaborate that it does need to be in the cold pipe [so as to show true intake temps] but needs to be sealed very well.
Sorry about that.

Azn - it needs to be said that since you are doing a simple tune just to keep the car running until you can get it to the dyno - you need to be carefull not to boost it too hard or generally beat on it at all untill you get it tuned properly. Be careful and finish this up properly and you'll be happy and safe.
Get your self to a Dyno and get a proper tune

Ok so basically I need to get my celi tuned...the problem here is that we had a dyno before but ever since 1320performance moved they don't have the dyno anymore...so icant tune it the way I want to...I know this guy who knows how to tune without a dyno...he did his supra street tuned...I hope he can do it for me...but I heard that he charges $150 an hour...all I'm trying to get out of my celi is just to run well with no problems that's it... I hope that it won't be that pricey...it would save me a lot it anyone here can teach me how to tune so I can save money...

Yeah I know who you're talking about, and he is extremely good in tuning toyota's thumbsup.gif Regardless of the price, you should ask him to tune it for you. I'll give you a call though if i'm able to help you out with the tuning. I've been really busy lately.

The stalling almost sounds like a map sensor problem. I'd check for vacuum leaks between the map sensor and the manifold (I hope you didn't splice into that hose for the boost gauge), make sure it's plugged in (I know I forgot to do this once... lol), and make sure the SAFC connections to the map sensor wires are wired correctly and have good connections. Of course, any of this would cause a CEL though.

And I don't mean to advertise here, but I have a mild steel two bolt flange for the primary o2 sensor that I got from KO racing and never used. just needs to be welded to your downpipe and bolt the o2 sensor right up. PM me if you're interested

Hey guys guess what?......I'M OFFICIAlLy Boosted baby!!... I did pressures setting for my safc to get me started with my tuning...then my friend came over to tweek on the tuning somore..and man it feels great!! I ran to another problem though...I HAD a oil leak from the top somewere by the valve cover next by the oil cap....there was oil skirting out...luckly I found where it was comming from...this mornng I checked the spark plugs to c if oil was comming out of it... Then I noticed that the NUT that was holding down the valve cover was loose...super loose...so I checked all the NUTS and it was all Super Loose!...I knew that it was the reason why the oil was skirting out so I tightened all the nuts and took it out for a spin then I popped my hood to c it oil skirted out...and nothing no oil at all!! So it's all g and took it out for a spin down south for a party and it runs good...well I would like to personally thank presure2,Shannon,jim, all members who helped me and all the 5sfte members for inspiring me to do this project...and mainly I would like to thank 6gc.net for getting me to where I am at if it wasn't for this site then I would get this far!!!thanks
5SFTE!!!

Brah Jon you miss out nah just joking. I got a chance to ride in the boosted 6gc earlier this week and it pulls pretty hard. But guarantee with the right tune it can put out alot more then what i've experienced. Oh yeah we had a "small kine" photoshoot after I got off work since Emarc's car being shipped out to the mainland tomorrow, so had to squeeze in some pix before then. I'll post it up in the multimedia section in a bit.
