Official Time and Meeting Place:

Meet is setup for Friday October 16th at 4pm and Saturday the 17th at 11am, and each day we are meeting at the Barnes and Noble parking lot of Long Beach Town Center, 7651 Carson Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90808 at the designated times.

Friday night is a beach bonfire at Bolsa Chica. Its gonna be cold, more than likely, so bring warm stuff. Please add your name to the list of attending and what you will bring (reminder, its a bonfire meet to hang out and introduce 1st timers to the group. If need be I can help spot some people for the $10 parking at the beach. We can bring basketballs, guitars, etc. to entertain ourselves with while we start the fire. Snacks should be brought as well, that will be up to whomever brings what so that we aren't starving by the time everything is setup.

Saturday is an all day event, meeting at the same place, 11am. We will decide on exactly what to do on Saturday by majority vote. This can be from cruises around town, indoor kart racing (depending on money situations), something that will be agreed upon.

1. xs94st (xavier) - wood, lighter fluid, hangers/stuff to make smores with.

Keep in mind, $10 needs to be brought for parking, and you should bring some snacks n stuff to chill at the bonfire. After the bonfire, whomever is down to come to my place and chill, come through. I need phone numbers, and if I already have yours please, repost it for other members. Or pm it to me. I have enough space for about 4 people to crash if they need to. If you are getting a hotel, let us know and we can perhaps all pitch in on it and just chill in the hotel.

Any questions, text me at 562 303 3288. I mainly accept texts, phonecalls only in urgent matters.

-Xavier

Hey guys, we had a great time at the Summer 09 meet, I figured I'd throw down another meet idea for us sometime this fall. I think an amusement park/kart riding/dining sounds like some cool ideas, put down any suggestions, we will decide date and time as well, and if we have to push the date back or move it forward depending on people's ability to make it.

Share your ideas for the next meet and lets get a good foundation going on this next meet.

-Xavier

just let me know the date and place, i can work out my work shedule if i have enough time to request time, i cant wait the last one was awesome....

I need to go to a meet sometime eventually, Nebraska's boring and dull, only 2 members on here are from here, maybe I'll head down to this one if it doesn't interfere with my school. Invite a few friends and take a vacation.

ha already starting to plan the next meet huh Xavier! well sounds good to me

Im free on the weekends so count me in for whenever. I would like to go to k1 speed. amusement park, uhh that would take up the whole day. Or we can just go to the beach this time and do bonfire at the beach and eat smores food w/e. I got no other ideas

oh ya and we can lag it with time either, cause the meet we just had was a little unorganized, even though it was still fun

My Xavier, you jumped on this fast my friend. Well, if I may say, I just hope this doesn't discourage anyone from going. Yes, we are planning ahead, and according to the experiences of Derrick, planning ahead sometimes has it's cons, as we may expect a lot, and eventually people tire and not show up. I had a great time with you all, and I believe October is the best month to do this. Why?

Here are my reasons why October is the BEST month:

1. Weather conditions, Mild and PERFECT
2. No major Holidays in the way
3. I-5 To SoCal will be cooperative

It would be nice if we can have these meets quarterly, and I STILL want a North & South meet, but the Northerners won't make the trip, I know this already without even having to follow up.

So if we can, let's plan for sometime in Early to Mid October, before we hit up the next two months with our loved ones on the most important holidays of the year. (PS, Weather permitting, I might try to make it out for New Years if you are down as well).

I like that idea too, the beach with a lil chilly coldness to it. I am sure people do that. Who can play a guitar? LOL Seriously, and if any of you know of a hotel by you, let me know so I can arrange to book a room. I plan on getting some drank (yeah I said drank) in with a few of you as well.

the balboa pier in newport beach is really nice, has parking right next to the beach, and has lots of good looking girls when its warm. the cops are also pretty relaxed there too.

I know it was a quick follow up, but I just wanted this thread made so we can have continuous updates as to who can come, what to do, and organize the time and date for the meet. I do apologize for the unorganizedness of the last meet, but after waiting for everybody to arrive I should have just had the meet up/arrival destination be the place where we were gonna go (the beach).

I am down for a mid october meet, the weather should be nice and the 5 will be clear. One thing to w be wary of will be brushfires in the socal area, as last year I think october got pretty bad.

As for new years, hell, faust jus come down to my place man I am planning on a kegger this year and the fambam (6gc'ers included) to come over and ring the new year in right. There is a motel right next to my place that should be opening soon, doesn't look janky, so it might be a primo spot to stay.

The beach sounds great, it was my original idea for the last meet but plans changed. I know that after november 19th I can't request any days off till 2010 lol, so I think october would be best for me.

I'm glad to see people already putting their .02 cents in, we need help organizing everything so it works out perfectly.

Thanks for puttin some ideas down!

Yeah? So you're family? Cool, cool. If the I-5 is cool, I will be down for that as well then, so long as me gots a place to park :-D

Well if Mid October works for everyone, I say that's a good place to start. Now Derrick should be able to come down to this meet as well and believes he might be able to entice a few Northerners down for this as well, and if he arrives, we can expect Marco to come down as well. Count on me coming by, if I get the funds I am expecting, I will hold off my swap for November so that I can attend this meet, so long as my engine is still well and kicking.

Brush fires? They get bad don't they? I remember driving back on the I-5 when I met Jeff and the mountains were on fire, but not bad to pass through.

Hmm,

Ideas:

Irwindale raceway, Run your car for 20 dollars and you can pretty much keep running your car all night, its a 1/8th mile track and they give time slips and reaction times.

Speedzone: Go karting, 25 dollars you can drive both tracks a drifting track and a regular turbo track. Its unlimited racing, the deal is valid sunday thru thursday.

A canyon run? ha ha

Sal! You can drift and drag in these KARTS?! Why didn't anyone say anything before on this?! Honestly, I don't care what we do. I just want to hang out with you guys again. I don't even care if we sit in a garage and drink beer (so long as you let me crash on your living room floor! LOL I love that, but just kidding...... I think). Things are getting pretty bad here in Bakersfield, and though I might be slightly drunk right now as I write this and correct my spelling errors thanks to Mozilla Firefox Browser....... I want to move out there and you guys are all awesome. I know some of you had fun, some of you say "Hey Faust, I will just see you at the meets and I don't care to get to know you to be my new best friend", but I want you all to be my new best friend. My heart is gushing righ tnow being dwunk as heck.

This upcoming weekend? I will see what I can rake up from sales on eBay, but that doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.

F glendora mountain road to sharp of turns will get you somewhat sick at least it did for me...

Angeles Crest Highway and Ortega highway are about the same distance from my house! usually takes about 40 min to get to L.A crest from my house on a motorcycle going 80-85mph.

When you get to cooks corner on ortega highway you can see all of lake elsinore.

Angeles Crest has a cafe towards the top of the road and a long strip for top speed runs, (but there are quite a few cops out there on sunday due to motorcyles always going up there, used to be one of those guys kindasad.gif) We would have to hit up canyons early in the morning to avoid any po-po confrontation

Ok I can't do anything until school starts... Financial stuff. I still need to get my rotors too. I should really try to quit smoking, that stuff is costing me a fortune. But yeah, I still got the stock springs. I ask anyone for my stuff just to make me an offer.

^^^ I second that. October 17th (Sat) or 18th (Sun), dead middle of October.

Actually, I forgot my Aunt and new Uncle from the UK are going to get married in October in Vegas, so I have to figure out when that is, unless you all want to come to Vegas with me :-D

Hmm, I'm down for mid october as well, but if faust has some stuff to do we may have to push it back..

But, I would love to go to vegas. I would pull a full gonzo and have my own fear and loathing experience hehe

Well faust let us know when you find out details, perhaps we can work it into another friday in october.

Xavier, thank you for keeping me in mind enough to work around my schedule. But good news my boy! The wedding isn't until the 25th or so, it is the following weekend on a Sunday from the weekend of the 17th & 18th!

So if everyone else can still come that weekend and if it is cool with everyone, I think it is the best time, at least it will be for me, well that whole month would except for that wedding. Plus I am going to be out Friday-Monday for the wedding in Vegas. So please please, if everyone is cool with either the 17th Saturday, or 18th Sunday, let us know and we can make that the official time.

Since we are already discussing this too, it gives us plenty of time to plan ahead, make that commitment, request a day off, and set up a good meet.

Ok. I think we can let this thread go by another week until we decide officially what day. But like I said, I really hope we can do the 17th or 18th. Having a meet on a Sunday wasn't so bad, because nobody really does anything on Sundays, although I wouldn't mind either way.

Yeah, I realize there is no 38th FOO!

It's the 19th of October, no 8 in it haha. It was probably the year you're thinking of, Jeff was born in the 1800's. laugh.gif

Anyways, I still vote on the 16th. Bonfires usually mean late night, and late night means waking up late the next day, so idk bout other people's work schedules, but some people have to work on Monday morning.

Ok, well then hell. Why don't we just go to Pismo (unless you know of another beach) and park our cars with us right ON the beach, late night, and camp out! Shoot! I would, and I went in Jan... ok... There were girls. LOL It was cold as hell at night too. This one chick wanted to do me at that time, but I was only 15 and innocent. Plus I didn't have my own tent, so.... Anyway... I don't mind. Friday night would be ok for me as well. I want to stay out there as long as I can. I loved it out there.

alright guys 17th or 18th of october is just fine. And if the date gets changed im cool with that as long as its on the weekend of course. Lets try to get the same amount people that came last time plus another 3 or 4 more.

as for the bonfire, remember that it will be getting dark at 5 pm since it will be the fall season. Ok we will just have to wait it out untill people start replying to this thread.

If we can get Friday as the day, it would be great.

That way people who make the big trip can stay longer, some can crash at my pad if you don't mind sleeping on the living room floor (and my gma being up early and watching tv full blast in the kitchen).

Friday night bonfire, Saturday recovery and more hangin out with whomever is still around.

I say we bonfire/bbq on the beach, we drink rootBEER (those that are of age ;-) )The folowing day, we meet up, go grab a bite to eat. We cruise spots and shoot photography (because the sun being set in different areas and for a variety of locations = good pics, a chance for some good video *AHEM!* that is hopefully posted, guys..... )

And that's just off the top of my head. If I had extra funds, I heard of a spot where people ride go karts and there is drag and drift, yes? That would actually be fun, but if we absolutely have nothing else to do and we don't mind dishing out some cash for that. Otherwise the above, at least to me, doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I'm not gonna lie, I probably not gonna be able to get both Friday and Saturday off, and my mid shift runs till 8pm on Friday. I'm gonna need some help organizing the actual meeting up and stuff because I will most likely not make it to the beach until around 9pm. If anyone would like to help out, please let me know. Saturday I can request off but not both days =/

If yall wanna bring friends that's fine by me. I think a couple homies might roll out to hang at the bonfire that night. I can bring wood and stuff as I have a sh*tload in my backyard from my brother's birthday, and I probably won't be using it anytime before then. I will bring the grill, and perhaps lew can bring some assorted 6gc stickers *cough* if he decides to make a presence. I know I need some new ones, mine have been getting owned by the beautifully horrible sun.

I know its still a whiles away, but I want this to go as smoothly as possible. Hell, we can probably cruise up PCH that night if people aren't wasted n stuff haha. But, there are a gang of cops out there at night because of all the clubs/bars.

Like I said before, I do have some space to crash at my house. My room has no carpet, but if ya bring a sleeping bag things should be alright. A good ol fashioned sleepover with scary stories. lol.

^^ AY Xavier, I'll stay at your pad dude! I don't mind bringing some sleeping bags an $#!T. biggrin.gif I am going to nominate Bonzai = Justin to help you sort this thing out. That guy knows the areas all over there very well and now in my eyes, he is like a personal Navigation system. He is the one who helped Joe and Chris get there effortlessly, and it was funny to see the look on his face when I kept handing him my phone when someone would call and need directions like "Foo, You know I'm the MAN!". LOL So yeah.

Aheemmm ya Faust... (is that how you spell it short?) I know the area (the O.C.) but not that well, kinda clueless when it comes to street names.

Well not that many people from the last meet have been replying to this thread. So we still need alot more people to put some ideas of what they would like to do. We have a little less than 2 months to go right? cmon where's everybody at.....

Hey Guys, Count me in! I'm down!
Hey but on a friday won't work for me cause I work Monday to Friday
and I'm off Saturdays and Sundays. If you guys decide to bust the Friday Oct 16.
Then I'll show up where ever you guys are after work around 8pm.

Sorry guys, I couldn't download the video I took cause I have it recorded
into one of those mini tapes and is not digital.
What I can do is transfer it to a VHS tape, I know (old school huh)
I can transfer it to a VHS tape and give u one to each who shows up in the next meet. smile.gif

Yeah, so, I have had no access to internet for the last 5 days or so, but yeah I agree with making concrete plans.

Friday October 16th, bonfire/hangout/beach

Saturday, whatever we wanna do.

People can crash at my place, not too many, but at least we have a backyard or someplace to hang and have some drinks once everything is over with.

You got it brother.

I have potential sleeping area for about 5 people, that is, given you have some sort of sleeping bag/blanket/pillows/etc. lol.

I don't own any video game consoles, but I have a stereo in my room, good for chillin n watching movies n getting drunk in haha.

This is gonna be epic.

Plus my boss' birthday (female) is the following week, so hopefully gonna get into some trouble with that. Heheheh.

We are gonna be meeting up at the Barnes n Noble area again. It worked out pretty well last time and the exit goes onto the freeway onramp.

From there we are gonna go to the beach, we have time to discuss which one, but also keep in mind we gotta stake claim to a pit. I have a gang of firewood, a wheelbarrow full, which will no doubtedly be placed in my trunk.

I probably will get off at 8, I am aiming to work an early shift and get out at 4. I think that the meeting time should be around 6 or so, so those who have been driving can chill for a sec n grab some coffee at the Barnes n Noble if they'd like. I'm gonna let Bonzai choose the time though, as if I cannot get out until 8, I would hate for everyone to have to meet up that late. Given 6 o clock sounds good, yall can head to the beach at that time n find a pit.

Bring your guitars or whatever, we can have a jam session too.

I know Bolsa Chica has some free parking, but we most likely wouldn't be able to all park next to each other. I figure we can find a spot to take pictures on Saturday. This is a 2 day event, so those who cannot make it one day could try to make the other. However, Friday is a night thing, so if you want to make it out for the pics n stuff, I'd say come down the Saturday. I have limited sleeping area, but if need be I can try to get more space for others to sleep/camp out at for the night.

What we do on Saturday is still up in the air, I figure pictures, food, hang out, cruising, etc would be cool. Throw in ideas and we can discuss them. We are a month and 5 days away from the meet, we should also be figuring out who is bringing what.

I will be bringing the wood, our 6gc grill, lighting stuff (accelerants for the fire) a cooler if I can fit it, and probably hot dog buns.

Lets get this thing going.

Thanks guys.

-Xavier

Hey Xavier, it looks as though you're going to need some sort of a co-host for this meet. Seeing as you don't get off work until 8pm on Friday, it may be best to have someone get everything organized and make sure everyone arrives ok before it gets really late.

Why you going to Vegas that weekend? Go the next weekend and I will see you in Vegas (I got a wedding to attend out there that following weekend, that's why).

I was really considering going to this one since I haven't been back for a meet in over a year, and as everyone knows, you are the life of the party, so if you aren't going to be there, that makes the meet 85% less worth it for me to make the long drive down there laugh.gif . And also, what happens if one of our cars breaks down!? Who's going to be there to fix it if you don't show up? No one else (other than myself) is going to carry random Celica parts in their car such as hoses and ECUs and what not. You could almost say that it's.. unsafe to attend this meet without you being there haha.

Also, on a side note, I've been wanting to discuss something with you about the coolant lines on the 5sfte set up, I think I have things figured out the way I want them to be, but I think there could be a better way to do it. I was going to ask your opinion on the matter since you've been there and done that.

Please do, or else it will turn into a 6gc kidnap Xavier from work meet smile.gif . Well I'm not trying to throw Faust under the bus or anything if he doesn't want to do it, but somethings tells me he will be one of the first people waking up and heading down to this meet, so I nominate him. He's also just a very friendly person and would be able to greet the attending members with skill laugh.gif . Anyways, I'll see what's going on, I didn't realize that there was sooo much happening within the next few weeks/months!

Shoot, I hope my car just needs valves, but if not, I could roll with James (Sir Arthur!). I just need for us to meet up in a n00b friendly environment, and to get on the ball on the early AM, because even though I was Marine status (1st one in, with James of course), I did run on underclock. But I would have no troubles meeting up with people early to gather up and be stationed until it goes down. More than likely I will be there early as all that area looks completely different to me at night. I gotta get used to it! LOL Pretty soon that's gonna be my new home.

Derrick! Are you coming? I hope you can make it. And if my car cannot make it, lol chances are I might just find an MR2 for sale before I head down there and buy it once we (James and I) get into or around that area (if hopefully it is on the way up and James doesn't mind). That way I can knock out two birds with 1 stone, but if I can take my car, I would much prefer that over anything.
