Would this fit my Celica SX 2.2L?

or would I need a different one?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995-1996-1...sQ5fAccessories

and if you suggest a different type of intake (better one) let me know.

Thanks !

well it says 2.2 but the pic is off a ST celica, I don't see why It wouldn't, you can also buy proper cold air intakes on ebay.

it will work and it sounds good, all of the 6th gen us models have the same intake manifold, some of them just do not have the breather tube like mine, but they are nice and only take about 5 minutes from start to finish, and it gives a pretty good sound along with a few hp increase, i love the way mine sounds

Incorrect. The 7A and the 5S do NOT share the same intake manifold.

ok then let me rephrase this, they have the same inlet for the intake to adapt to and the same MAF sensor, the intake will fit

You have the 5S-FE which has a 2.5" throttlebody.

Basically you need a 3" Intake pipe (any will do, aslong as its free of loose shavings and is smooth)

2.5" to 3" reducer coupler

2 clamps for the coupler - 2.5" and 3"

An additional 3" clamp for the air filter

And an air filter - I recommend K&N Pod filter or HKS Mushroom Filter but any will do.

If the pipe has a 10mm nipple on it you can connect the existing oil breather pipe, Otherwise put a Minifilter on the end of the oil breather hose.

PS: that minifilter on the side of that intake pipe doesn't need to be there. A simple vacuum cap will do.

SS-II/III BEAMS engines are MAF/AFM (A MAF (Mass Air Flow) or AFM (Air Flow Meter) measure the mass or volume of air.)

Beams is the one engine I have never experienced in a Celica, Although it's pretty nice in an Altezza RS200 tongue.gif (If it wasn't such a heavy car)

Filter boxes don't make any sense. All they do is rob you of power and make you come back in to get serviced every time you need a new filter............ok now it makes sense. Greedy bastards. laugh.gif

Maybe with the talent which guys and gals have on this forum, someone could put a prius engine in a 6GC and instead of 30 MPG they could get like 50 MPG and go from 0-60 in like 12 (minutes) ha ha.

Hey Hey HEY HEY now........

It's 5 minutes. Let's be fair. tongue.gif

Actually, as much as hybrids get the shaft in popularity, the thing actually can haul some ass. Not saying it's a Celica, but it's not the weak crap box everyone assumes it is because old grannies drive them 30mph under the speedlimit on the highway getting chips in their hood paint as they drive in the right lane behind gravel trucks.

ANYwho, while I won't ever try your suggestion (who would want to disgrace a Celica like that lol.......and what would I do with the other half of my engine bay?) I would totally offer up my Prius to someone who could put something worth while in it haha. It's a horrible car for racing simply because it's very narrow and top heavy, but the lack of the ability to turn and the sole ability to just.. go fast.. hasn't stopped American sports cars for the last 60 years.

Seriously, don't believe what the little sheet says. Unless you drive like a brain damaged senior citizen, you'll probably average about 42-46. Hardly worth the work of doing some sort of weird frankenswap.

Hey guys !

I've received this a couple of days ago and it is now in.

I can feel a minor difference, the accelerator is more responsive and it makes a cool sound when I hit around 4-5RPM.

I love the sound, but I wish it was more louder. frown.gif

But yeah overall great product.
