Emelianenko vs Brett Rogers

If you didn't see it (for free) on nbc, you missed out dude. It was an amazing fight.

It reminded me a lot of being a child and getting to Mike Tyson for the fight time on Punch Out. The outcome was basically the same and I felt the huge anger and dissapointment that Brett Rogers did.

I love em. But because of my timezone I have to wake up at 3am to watch them live. If not, then I just watch the highlights. I'll have to see if I can watch the fight off youtube or something.

Yeah but watch Manny Pacquiao take out Miguel Cotto this weekend, and be amazed by this guy's technique. Started boxing at what? 106lbs? Carried through all the way up to 145lbs we are at now?

I was watching those 24/7 on Manny Pacquiao and I must say, this might not be as one sided as we all thought it might be.

I don't think anyone doubts that the Pac-Man is going to win, but what I am arguing is that Manny hasn't had the normal amount of training time and concetration he normally has for his fights due to increase of natural disasters in his training ground.

Originally I though the Pac-Man was going to knock him out within the first 7 rounds, but now I think this fight might actually go all the way to the judges, where Manny is going to win 118-110. Just my prediction.

No, that is a very good prediction. If Cotto learns that he cannot out muscle or out speed Pacquiao, and fights a smart fight, you are very correct. However, he is thought of as a punching bag right now. Because you have to consider his last fight with Clottey and what might have been going on in his head that effected him that last round. I am sure that is to have some impact on deciding to take him on (knowing what the result will be to egg on a more massive fight, with let's say.......... Mayweather? Since God knows we are dying to see that). Anyways, I want to say that what you predict, I expect to see. I don't care too much for quick knock outs, I like a long bloody fight. I am almost certain Cotto will kiss the mat at least 1-2 times even if he survives it all. Considering the relationship between Mexicans and Puerto Ricans, I have to say that I think this guy might try and knock out Pacquiao though, and whatever he weighs in that night is going to tell you exactly how he is going to fight.

Comes in over? Knock out attempt, muscling his way through
Comes in just right? Duration of the match, meaning he will focus on defense, baby steps in points, and counter punching

I saw that fight with Clottey and I must say, I expect a totally different fight from Cotto. He was totally a punching bag in his last fight, and who can forget that Margerito fight (lol). I am hoping to see that the switch in scenery will focus him more to work on his defense and his accuracy.

I enjoy the longer fights as well but, Pacquiao vs Hatton smile.gif. I don't know anyone who watched this fight and wasn't amazed.

Hopefully Cotto will use his size advantage wisely and not try to rush pacquiao, otherwise Cotto will be seeing the roof once or twice lol.

haha yeah, funny thing is that I'm really not a huge fan of boxing because most boxers (expect for the elite few) are boring fundamentalists. People like Klitschko Mayweather and Paquiao are the only people I watch because they are so naturally gifted and just seeing there fights makes me feel like a better person lol.

Well, I Have to agree with you there. But I have seen some not so well known boxers put out some good fights. Usually the welter weights and below give the good fights.

I still have yet to get into that. Yes, I acknowledge the conditioning for those fights. But rarely do I see opportunity for real mixed martial arts. Judging by the rules, there is still limitation on which martial arts can be effective and applied in such events.

Most of the rules of Mixed Martial Arts come from trying to make the fight as even as possible to get the best fight possible.

I love watching a great boxing match, but I can watch amateur mma all day every day lol. Its just so amazing how someone can win with a crazy surprise knockout or a surprise chock at the last minute.

If you ever get the chance to watch a mma match, watch Randy "The Natural" Couture vs Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira. That is one of the greatest match's I have seen in a long time.
