I don't really want to buy an ebay header for my car. I'm not looking for power gain really. I have the stock manifold on the car, pre-cat and down pipe. From the downpipe back it's 2.25 piping to a 12' resonator going to a ractive canist. I absolutlly love the way my car sounds. it's not raspy or high pitched. It has an amazing deep throaty roar. People give me compliments on the way my car sounds all the time, when i get on it it sounds like a beast. But it just isn't loud enough

I want my exhaust to be louder but maintain the same sound. I just don't want to to be hideous loud.

I was told to just take the pre-cat off and gut it and put it back on.

So my question(s) are would this throw any sensors? and would it help the volume of the sound? I kind of need a fast response b/c i planned on doing this tomorrow morning. So any input will be greatly appreciated.

heh.nice.looks like im not the only one getting compliments for how my 6gc sounds biggrin.gif
well.i had my celis cat taken out and a straight pipe fitted in.the sound changed from the deep throat roar you described to a amazing sound.something like a...owk.honestly,i havent heard anything like it.its not hideously loud but loud.maybe its because i still have the silencer fitted.
i asked the same question about the sensors and they told me that they'll ground the sensor wire and that's what they did.no engine checklight or anyother trouble since.it also solved the sputtering problem the motor faced on idle.hope this helps. smile.gif
