so i am a little pissed about how some of the members here conduct themselfs, i recently put some pics on here to see what people thought and i appreciate most the input (good and bad) but some members are just posting reply's that are just plain mean and disrespectful, so here is my first thought....

1. you can say you don't like something without being sarcastic or mean about it.
2. remember most cars on here are a work in progress and not show cars.

now onto my second point of this thread, please don't take someone elses pictures off this site and post them elsewhere, someone on here took two of my pictures and posted them on another site just to make a joke of them, would not be so bad but they didn't even block the lic plate that says 6GC.NET, so i guess what i'm trying to say is, lets all be nice or at least respectful on here as if not this will be a dead site real fast. thank you for reading.

well, sorry bout that bro, just pm the mods with the name of the other site and name of member of the other site.

However, we have a lot of guest visitors here, and he might not even be a member of this site.

in the web there are 95 % who disrespect, 1% of those who are respectful and 4% who dont care. I guess what im trying to say is not to justify their actions, but rather ignore them. It will never change....

Unfortunately when internet took over person to person communication, several things happened.
#1 Internet provides a curtain for people to hide behind. In real life haters usually get their arse handed to them. On internet bullying became cyber bullying that can range from outright annoying to downright dangerous.
#2 While other members do not tolerate forum trolls they tolerate bullies thus opening a freeway to unmoderated gates of hell.

Do keep in mind that those moderators that are still alive on this forum are nice people who have been here since day one and they will do everything in their power to help you out. Keep in mind that most haters are just in their teens or late teens and are hormonal out the wazoo to the point that drives them to spill their hatred and insecurities on others.

Bullies are separated into 3 categories.
#1 active bullies
#2 passive bullies
#3 the possy

active bullies are like cancer and always disappear into the abbyss before getting caught by respected members who can suspend their priveleges on this forum.

passive bullies are just as dangerous but while they attack other members they are also very hungry for attention often making threads like : "I was bored so I did this (ie washed a car)"

the possy are people who follow in the footsteps and like a pack of hyenas confirm and agree with the bullies.

Best thing you can do right now is stop feeding their habits by not responding to their replies. That should be followed by a discussion with a forum moderator. Once that clears away and you are back to normal you should make a note and post it on your wall.

It should read:
"This is my car and my car alone, there are others like it but none are like mine. Mine is special because.... Others may like or dislike it but I did this car for me and people in my community and not some twerps 1200 miles away mouthing off on a internet chat site. I shall not be phased by stupid comments posted by people whom I will never see and if I ever see them I will laugh in their face because I can see how insignificant they really are"

On the flip side, putting photos on the internet is always a risk, and nobody here can police that.

Yeah, as soon as you post a picture on the internet there is nothing you can do to stop it from spreading, but knowing that to begin with - YOU should have blocked your plate out, because that aspect of keeping your privacy is no one's responsibility but your own.


And who says that the person who posted on 4chan was a 6gc member? You don't need to be logged in to copy and paste a picture. So now you want to lecture the entire internet... and that will fall on deaf ears.

I think it would be safe to assume that it was a member. I don't know too many people who come to a girl car forum because they have nothing else to do and steal all the photos. It has to be someone here. Most guests that come have a celica or want to buy a celica and would not waste their breath on something like this

I'm pretty sure 90% of 6gc knew a heckler was licking his lips at the sight of that. Being behind a screen does give people a boost of confidence, but it happens in all forums. Sorry to hear about all of this though.

i new when i posted it that i was going to get bad comments aswell as good, lets face it each of us has our own taste in how to go and modify our cars, some like jdm and some go a lil ott like i do, but i never expected to open the door to that, i guess its a lesson learned though.

Screw them. That's what I say when people comment my pictures like that. No constructive criticism what so ever, just "gay" or something.

When it comes down to it, it's your car. Not the e-thug on the other side of the computer screen's car. It's yours. You drive it every day. If he doesn't like what you've done with it then tell him to shove it. You posted up a picture for other members, maybe even inspired others. Don't let some e-thug tell you what you can and can't do to your own car, and don't get upset when other people don't tell you they like it. Remember, it's YOURS.

i'd advise you to take it upon yourself to read the forum rules one more time, then review your recent posts.

alot of people decided that instead of trying to make this site a helpful, friendly place, they want to come here and bash and talk trash to people, or just be generally rude.

i've been letting ALOT of stuff slide, that i used to delete and warn people for, bannings ect.

there are MORE 6GC's here that inspire me to want my Celica to look//perform like it should! We've got a lllooong way to go!!
BUT, that aside, A LOT of 6 GCers have saved me from doing some things wrong!

I agree bashing//trashing isn't helpful to any one.
A simple
"if it were me, I'd..." would probably sufice the comment.

I read the Haynes book before I try stuff--when things don't look right, 6gcers fill the gaps with info that Haynes left out!!

i totally agree, but for me personally, not 6gc.net related or anything just personal and workwise, trashing and bashing sometimes opens my eyes more but sometimes also makes me prove others wrong. So sometimes it may be ironic inspiration. but then again, the rules of this site is what it is.
