Thought I´d share my Celica build with you guys.

Okay the car is 1994 GT-four WRC.
Bought it 4 months ago, and now it has these following improvements:

-HKS EVC boostcontroller
-HKS airfilter
-3" SS Catback-exhaust
-Apexi turbotimer

-Tein S-techs
-Whiteline rear anti-rollbar
-16" Oz Superleggera rims

and then the pics...

I´ve found the new rims for next summer: Enkei EV-5. CANCELLED biggrin.gif

and then, the huuuuge fcuking bomb:

I´ve been offered a special rollgage. what makes it special? Its TTE (=Toyota Team Europe) olds pacenotecar rollgage.
Im incredibly tempted..

UK plates?

Looks awesome! Is it your Daily driver? Do you go on the track a lot? If not i wouldn't bother with the rollcage, too impractical for everyday use, and a lot of extra weight, but if you're rallying / racing then GO FOR IT biggrin.gif

Yeah Luke, UK-plates in the pics, but not anymore.. I go to the track alot, and I have a massive perversion to rollgages biggrin.gif and its really light gage, weighs only 45kg. I need to get it.

Is that factory paint, or has it been repainted in its life? It looks absolutely shiny and brilliant. Gorgeous car. Get yourself some JDM tails though. wink.gif

Factory paint, its been well taken care of. JDM tails? Ill have to think about it. thats purely exterior, I rather invest on the performance..

I guess you guys don't get as much sun in Finland, therefore probably less paint damage. It looks brand-new in the pictures.

Yeah, I think I should add something again here..

Screw the enkeis, I found better. the rims are pretty much as the Work Emotion CR Kai´s.

But the big question is, what colour. I cant decide!

There are 3 options, Gold, Bronze and Gunmetal.. But I think they would all rock with white!
I´d photoshop them If I could, but cant biggrin.gif

So, tell me youre opinions?
and the tires are going to be Toyo Proxes 4..

I'm partial to Gunmetal rims. I don't think the bronze or gold ones look good on most cars.

I ordered the rims today, in bronze, as I like the way bronze rims look on white cars.
Dragwheels DR31 17x8 in bronze, ET 35.

Should I run 215 or 225 tires, cant decide.. 215 would have a small stretched look.. hmm..

Stambo; those OZ´s are now on my car, and theyll remain as my winter rims!

Promasta; I have to check the stocks.. Toyo proxes should be grippy, and I dont mind doing massive 4WD slides at all! biggrin.gif

very nice, great size/offset too.
so what tire size are you going with?

soon I will be getting 235/40/17s for my 17x8 +32s. low and wide om nom nom.
but as you said you have awd, you don't really need the traction.

not sure, would 215/45-17 look ugly as its stretched? Im not that into putting too wide tires, all the wear and tear to joints and axles..

holy crap, thanks promasta, Im going to get the 215´s. I assumed they would have been more stretched, I must have calculated wrong.. But thanks!

And now to the tires..

I have three options, the costs are in 50$ radius for the whole set.

If some one has great experiences of these, please tell!

-Toyo Proxes 4 (or T1R)

-Falken FK-452

-Kumho Ecsta MX KU15

I had Falkens on my old Celi, and it felt ok.
I have driven a GT4 with Toyos, but never was able to really test them..
And the Kumhos are purely a wild card.

I use Toyo T1R,s on my 4 mate,good tyres,out the ones you've listed it's the only one I'd recommend smile.gif
215 is too narrow & can looked stretched(I've had a set on my 4 & hated) depending on manufacturer,I run 235 but a lot of other owners I know use 225/45/17 maybe a good compromise
I wouldn't change my 235,s for any other size tho.

Im starting to lean towards the Kumhos, as they are the most expensive ones.. Original price that is.
I also heard good things about kumho from a friend of mine..

i run 225/45/17 on mine , also 8x17", loads of traction but still easy to run 4wd drifts too.

i wouldn't go with kumhos simply because they are made in south korea or china.
falkens and toyos are made in japan and they are cheaper.

I am also trying to decide between T1R and FK452. If you google T1R vs. FK452 there are tons of comparisons. Most people who have used both like the FK452s better. They can last over 30,000 miles, very quiet, sidewall is medium stiffness so launching is ok but so is cornering. T1R is nicer looking though. Either one will look more stretched than mine because my Azenis's run wide for their size (7.6" tread width for FK452s vs. 8.0" tread width for Azenis's).

Yeah I heard of Kumhos being done in 10,000 miles with few track-days, and that kinda scared me..
Falkens treadwear is the best of these three I guess..

No use having plenty of tread left on your tyres if your cars upside down in a ditch, pick the ones that are going to keep you on the road the best, it maybe they wear out quicker but that's usually because there giving you better traction, 300 bhp & bad tyre choice is only gonna cause problems ive done it myself mate, when I bought my car it had brand new Federals on it,they were lethal so I binned them with 6mm tread, next I had Falkens they were ok but could let go a bit suddenly which wasn't ideal,I did keep them till they wore out tho, next I had Toyo T1s which I loved such an improvement, honestly made the car feel so much better & at the moment I've got Toyo T1r on, definately the best mid range price tyre I've had, wear rate probably isn't the best tho but that's a price I'm willing to pay for the grip.
If you've got time try & get as many opinions as you can before buying as tyre choice really affects the driving of a 4.

feck this shait.

I was partying with friends, and left the celica at my friends yard.
When I went to pick it up the next day, they had done a prank, there was 3 feet of snow on top of the car, from front to back. I laughed, got the snow off and came home..

But feck. Thanks to this prank, now theres a dent on my F/L fender and scratches on the roof, hood and the oter fender..
I did have a flawless GT4..

Ill try to add some pics tomorrow..

booze + people who doesnt appreciate ones property/dont know cars = awesome results. ****.

Ill try to call them tomorrow, I hope they admit it so I dont have to speak to the Police about it..
I just hoped for some honesty, they could have called ahead."We did a small prank and accidentally scratched and dented your car. Get it fixed and we´ll pay for it" but no, nothing..

I guess there has been some small stones frozen to the snow, and those have scratched it.. Couple scratches were on the paint only, but 2 or 3 had scuffed all the paint off..

Problem is that the guys are 20 and 18 and both are in school..
So its their dads that are probably going to have to pay..

gutted for you mate, the car looks top shape mate.

only one thing is that going from your top pic the radiator looks very worn, the top tank is browned by the looks which means its likely to have hairline cracks in it if its anything like the usual st205 rads when they brown they start to crack the tanks, then eventually die a death.

lovely motor though mate

OK, the car is currently on the bodyshop getting fixed, and in the meanwhile I have had time to plan everything ready for the car..

So here we go:

- new rad
- new rad hoses
- fitting and heatcoating the aussie downpipe
- heat insulation to the Charge cooler
- set of Toyo Proxes 4

and if I install the downpipe, then Im going to need a remap, as the fuelcut will come an obstacle..

But seems good doesnt it!

which aussie downpipe did you get? the same ceramic coated pipe that i have or the non ceramic pipe?

if its the ceramic, dont lag the pipe.

what ecu are you running? as the standard unit isnt mappable, and fuel cut is a bitch, but can sometimes be got around by porting the wastgate.

my downpipe is s/s, and its going to get a ceramic heat coat on it.

Its the stock ecu now, fuelcut is somewhere in the region of 1,35bar so 19, 5?
but it requires to change some chips in the ecu. new program in.

so you are changing to a piggy back ecu?

if you are going to keep the standard ecu then taking the fuel cut off the ecu is a very very bad idea.

the standard st205 unit is only programed upto 1.2 - 1.4 bar fueling with a ct20 as the turbo, if you crank it up more boost then irrelevant of the boost coming in the ecu will only fuel the maps it is capable of, i.e. 1.2-1.4 bar max, and that will inevitably melt your engine, fcd on an st205 without a proper aftermarket ecu is a big mistake

I dont know whats the right term for it in engrish, but new fuel and boost maps. And no way am I going over 1.4bar if possible, Im pretty sure we´ll get good results with that level of boost, no need to rev the ct20b any more..

phew, thats ok then, i was thinking you were going to run the standard ecu fuel maps at over 1.2 bar, which would be catastrophic for the pistons. good good though, new fuel and boost maps are good, we are mapping my brothers car in 2 weeks, cant wait!

no I dont have forged internals, but no, im not driving at 1.4bar.

Currently 1.2 bar. Its about that Im going to install the aussie downpipe, which immediately at this program takes the boost 1.5bar and gets fuelcut.

edit; If you have info about what certain parts of the engine can handle, theyd be welcome.

I hate spring. As the streets melt, they get full of these bumps and holes.. hit on driving about 35-40mp/h and now my front right suspension squeeks like a horny pig, NICE.

Hi mate
Just had exactly the same problem as you, front figure eight creaking LOUDLY laugh.gif ,if theres no movement you can cure this by piercing a very small hole in the top of the camber arm gaiter/rubber bush cover & insert the spray straw of a can of penetrant fluid in & give it a good squirt,it wont work immediately but after a few hours & some miles it cures it,i then sprayed in some lithium grease to keep the joint lubed wink.gif
A small hole tho just enough to force the straw through.
Fuel cut is usually around the 1.2 bar mark mate,1.5 seems very odd where are you getting the readings from,EBC ,manual boost gauge ?

readings are taken from HKS EVC 4 boost controller. It would boost up, but the fuelcut comes in the game in the region of 1.3.... bar. And I already got a new fig8, trying to keep the car in perfect running order..

Hollaback!

Does anyone have a Megan N1 mufler?

Im currently sporting some stockish muffler with 3" stainless steel exhaust with out cats, and it spitting flames has broken the muffler from the inside..

Now I need to buy good cat in there that can last with the bangs and flames, and a freeflow mufler, should I go with 3" or 2,5" megan?

halp! I dont want to make my car too loud :S
