I just got home from work--check this out------
Thismorning on my way to work at 4am--a main State Route--( 2 lanes)
I'm driving doing 55. A ways ahead, coming towards me, I see a set of healights. OK no biggie...until...it comes into MY LANE!!
I slow down and move over to the shoulder thinking "hope he gets over quick--I'm 1/2 way in a ditch!!"
NO DICE!! He comes STRAIGHT AT ME! I take 1/2 the ditch--HE"S AIMNG AT ME!!!!
I lock the brakes and start fishtailing and headed for a telephone pole--I nail the gas to pull out of the ditch-- HE'S
so fu****g close I hear him gun his motor!!
WTF!!! I start fishtailing across the road towards the other ditch! I lock 'em up again--now going 60---Go completely SIDEWAYS in what should be HIS lane---tires screaming for mercy as tire smoke completely engulfs the Celica!!
I come to a dead stop RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE ROAD! The Celica dies...there's absolutely NO NOISE except my heart beating from the bottom of my stomach!
I sat there watching him disappear, hearing him mash his gas!! WTF-- If I had my Sig... but that wouldn't solve anything.
(Except he'd never do it again)
The ol' Celica staretd right up. I couldn't get a license #--my a** was about to eat the seat!!

I thanked the GOOD LORD nothing else happened, and that no one else was on the road!!

So on my way home,I checked the scene--I was ALL OVER THE ROAD according to the tire marks!! Almost like a figure 8!!
If this were the Camaro, I don't know if I'd be here!!
I owe it all to the EXCELLENT HANDLING & RESPONSE OF THIS CELICA!!!!
I am now going to have a BIG Rum & Coke and a cigarette!!

Be defensive--watch out for the a**holes out there!!

No one else was on the road! Normaly there's a few ppl going each way. I f there were any one else within 100yds. some one would have been in serious condition if not dead!!
The guy started going faster--I HEARD HIS MOTOR REV when he was gunnin' it!!!
If it was chicken,I was a *B*I*G* one!!

Minding my own business just toolin' along going to work.No rush-I always give myself extra time in case I get a flat, hit a deer, etc. No need to cut it close on time, especially in this time of year.

That lil Celica---I have a NEW FOUND ADMIRATION!! FANTASTIC handling & had the ooomph when I needed it!!
I'll NEVER say it's a weezy motor again!!

Did you call the police? Even if nothing ever came of it, at least it would have been on record. Sounds like the guy was eating some McDonald's or texting or something. I can't believe that so many people put so many things ahead of driving when they are behind the wheel.

You mean, like DEER?

Glad you're okay bigblock! Nothing like a near miss to serve as a harsh reminder of our mortality.

Hanyo--
If I had an extra 45 mins to an hour I would have followed him to get his lic #.
I got to work with 10 mins to spare!

I thought about calling but with no info & no witnesses....

Thanks GriffGirl--
Yes this type of thing makes a person put things into perspective, then there are the " What IF "...
I would rather DEER run the road!! wink.gif

richee--
you're right too. It just doesn't make sense to do something else while driving. With all the fields around here, I scan for the road kill wanna be's.
SlvrCelica09--
Did that on the way to work, during the day, & b4 turning in for the eve!!

You should do that regardless of what happens in your life. Dramatic events should shape your faith.
