Sucks that your linkage is sh!t. wink.gif

Congratulations, post pics! And what's your timeframe for installing this bad boy? It would be AWESOME, and I reiterate, AWESOME, if you could bring this to our next FL meet, which should be happening sometime mid-summer.

firstly are you getting a spark?

secondly you where asking about a timing belt, did you change your timing belt? If you did, are you right?? (I remember 2bcelica had trouble staring his and had idling problems due to the timing was out)

No I never did change the timing belt... As for spark, not really, I tried using starter fluid to see if it will start and it doesn't come on

maybe during shipment the engine fell over or tipped upside down leaving oil in the chambers. but as for the not starting i have no idea bc it should still fire. post some pics i wanna see this beast. where did you get your engine i was wanting to get one as well

Yeah, motor is up and running now but I can't get the rpm gauge to work... And I'm trying to get that figured out before I start posting videos

the beams enbgines requires a working vvti rpm guage. either in the form of the vvti white guage or
the 3rd gen 3sge rpm guage (would seem sensible since this revs up from 0-7,000rpm and stops at 9,000rpm rather than the USDM one??) with some form of control box to switch the rpms signal over for the BEAMS ecu to understand.

trying to find the link regarding that info , which is on this forum somewhere kindasad.gif

you can either use a Beams RPM counter or use the one you already have in your car.
To make yours work you need a tach signal adapter.
The beams ECU uses a 5V signal for the rev counter and the non-Beams celicas use a 12V signal.

so either get a Beams cluster and swap out the rev counter or get a tach signal adapter.

I swapped in a BEAMS rpm gauge, and it still doesn't work... I swapped in the rpm before I swapped the motor so I would already have it but it ended up not working

Well I doubt the wiring is messed up, the cluster was reading accurate before motor swap, does anyone mind sending me there cluster so I can conclude that it's the rpm gauge that doesn't work smile.gif
