AJ, It's not a threat...it's a warning that quite a few members here on 6GC are going for the HellaFlush look.

I personally think it looks good on some vehicles and like rubbish on others; my 6GC will never be HellaFlush.

I think it looks garbage. The only time I've liked it is seeing it on Vdubs. Other than that...to me, that S2k up there looks like crap. I'd much rather see it with some nice 17's that are just flush with the fender, sans the insane camber and stretched tires.

Hella flush is all about stance. It does nothing for performance unless you want to drift (if your on stretched tires.) Flush doesn't always mean your on stretched tires with a good amount of poke outside your fenders as some seem to think that's all it is. Basically the goal is to have your wheels flush with the fenders. Just wheels is not gonna get you the right stance though. you have to dump your car (preferably on bags) with the right camber and a good fender roll to achieve flush fitment. I'm working on it with my 6gc. Its all personal preferance. I don't like the sucked in look to me it's unattractive. So I'm going for some deep dished goodness with streched tires and a lil poke. smile.gif to each his own

i personally like the "flush" look, but it doesn't serve a function... crazy offsets are bad for bearings, and cause poor handling. along with being flush a lot of guys stretch tires. again it looks good, but no point really. bad tire wear and loss in performance. flush looks good, but it isn't ideal for daily driving.

The insane camber is the real JDM VIP
The red 240 is true HF
The rest is a watered down Hawaii HF style

Guess who's Yaris is that wink.gif

Heh,
I'd love to see these cars try and make it over a speed bump.

This is actually worse for your handling as well, your car will naturally have body roll (even with super large diameter sways, sweet coilovers, and all the braces you want) so dropping your car this much won't eliminate it. The point of lowering the suspension is to get more aerodynamics, but also to use matched springs with struts that give your car better handling when on a track while also lowering your CG to give you better in-turn and exiting. Case in point, these would rub if you ever actually raced these on a track, and more than likely you'd rip off a fender attempting to do so. And racing on the street? Good luck finding decent pavement. Essentially, it's all for looks and is completely impractical.

this is insanely stupid but people just want to see if they can get the lowest or have the most camber just to be "that huy"

I'm not a fan.

But then, if i had a car that i could just trailer to shows, then trailer it home again, then why not.

Plus to refer to this, or any other modified look as JDM is dumb. I don't remember any car being made with -20 degree camber and 1mm of suspension travel being made for the japanese domestic market wink.gif

Leave it to the celica community to tell how to properly set up suspension, body roll, spring rates, rebound, dampers, etc. LOf'nL.

Preferably on airbags is bull. You do it static with coilovers.

Different strokes for different folks. I like my -camber front and rear and taking speed bumps at angles, yes I daily it and yes it is my celica. The sad part is the damn Megans, even with their huge amounts of dropability do not go low enough. They are dropped to the max and still don't cut it.

Yeah, I am not sure what I am going to do about my car. I may just be smart about it and say screw it and buy something new to toy with. I dunno, I need to buy new wheels, really want some 19s. That can probably make me happy about the car not going low enough.

However, with megans you can cheat and put an ugly body kit on and make it appear much lower than it is. IE: 404, veilside crap, etc.

Run a 40 series tire on a big stretch to make up for it. I stretched 45 series but a 40 won't make a huge difference, I would need to bump from 205 to a 195 or something on my 8.5J. The biggest problem I am seeing is that sure you can add more negative camber to drop the car but you wont be able to fill the wheel gap. My megans' tube is seriously sitting a few MM's from the knuckle. I could lower the spring perch so the preload is far less, but at the same rate the car would allow to much travel and my sidewalls would just shred completely through. Right now I hit the fender edge with my sidewall, inside the wheel well I have plenty of space, but again I have 9.5J in the rear. 8J will probably give you a bit more space to work with this and less -camber.

I guess. rolleyes.gif

Just like how people seem to believe that wheel rims only bend when people run stretched tires. Yeah, because a stretched tire and +20 offset will shear lugs right off the car. Makes complete sense.

That is FLUSH, not Hellaflush.

I dislike Hellaflush because large amounts of negative camber look RETARDED, and every fender looks the same because everyone has to roll their fenders. Harold's car looks clean, the stance is excellent, and it's a job well done. I hope to get my wheels flush with the inside edge of my fender and nothing more. I like my bearings, to be honest.

Don't let the angle deceive you. I am not Hellaflush, never wanted to be, it just not economical in my area for my DD. However, amounts of negative camber are in effect. -1 up front and -3ish in the rear.

I am not a big fan of a huge tire stretch with massive poke, certain cars can pull it off but most look dook.

Next run of wheels I plan to go wider with more poke.

I'm not saying I don't like camber, I have camber from being lowered - I just don't like large amounts of it.
Nor will I be running stretched tires.
Nor poking anything.

i dont mind the flush or HF scene i just think this site don't really have legit wheels like japan name brands, that I would really love. 7th gen folks seem to do it up more than us over here. I plan to get better sized wheels somwhere in the 9 area just to try it out.

Stretched tires and lots of negative camber means one thing. Your car is slow as **** and unpractical. Also looks like you're car has cerebral palsy.
