I just got my gauges for my a-pillar in yesterday, and one of them is a water temperature gauge, which I hope to install tonight when I go to my friend's house after work. This gauge has five wires which come out of the back, four of which I know what to do with. My question is, where do I hook up the water temperature sensor wire to? Does it hook up to a pin on the ECU of the car that's right near the glovebox, or does it go somewhere else? If anyone could help me it'd be greatly appreciated!

I have heard that for the water temp sensor you must use the sensor that came with the gauge. You would have to unscrew yours and screw in the Autometer gauge. The only problem is that the Autometer sensor is a standard sensor and the Toyota one is metric so it won't fit. You can try tapping the wire that goes to the sensor, but i hear that doesn't work either. I believe autometer makes a sensor for import applications.
I may be wrong, but thats what I can remember, Hope that helps. Joe |
