I've seen CF hatches but does anybody make trunk lid for coupe?
Like this one (this is Camry, though)

I'd be interested to know.

There was a limited production by a company similar to vis racing but it was priced like 800 bucks not including shipping and I think that partly contributed to its downfall.

Yeah, I can imagine! Wow 800 bucks + shipping! I love my Celi but not THAT much.
I just thought it would be nice. I have CF hood and (soon) WORK4POOP will be wrapping my license plate bezel in CF. Trunk in addition would be a killer! biggrin.gif

there was never a production of the coupe trunk.
We had VISracing create one for the hatchback...and it is still in production.

However I think i'm the only one to turn out a CF COUPE trunk lid.

However, I made that many years ago.

All I remember is that there was some talk about it waaay back when and that someone had a cf trunk because someone agreed to make them in bulk if we did a bulk order. I may be confusing it with hatchback models.

Either way it is possible to make one yourself.

I assume player (but he has extensive experience in modifying everything from stripes on a zebra to inventing spoilers for bugatti) took a mold of my trunk (I think I sold it to him when I was back in college) and using resin and sheets of carbon fiber he created that. Another option is to make a fiberglass trunk and wrap it with some carbon fiber.

I thought about putting a cf trunk and hood on my car but having had a cf trunk before and knowing what it will take to make a trunk... ehhh... I might get a hood again in a year or so.

Or... easiest and cheapest thing is to use that 3D carbon fiber vinyl thing.

Not to thread jack, but PLAYR do you happen to know the weight of the Carbon fibre trunk versus OEM?
Link ==> CF hatch

And also, they can be used on GT4's right. I couldnt help but to ask that tongue.gif

The Carbon trunk vs OEM weight for a COUPE.....i'm not sure. You would be loosing a significant amount of weight, even if you go 100% fiberglass its still a large reduction. I just remember the OEM piece weighing a lot.

and yes the Hatch on all HATCH celicas are the same so it can be used on a GT4

I wish I could get my hands on that! Props for craftmanship!

Yeah, unfortunately that vinyl does not look exactly as 2x2 twill and considering that it would sit right side-by-side with orig CF bezel, I don't think it would work...
