well i've got this crazy idea, and i kinda wanna make it happen i like the look of veilside, but without the lil flair things on the side and maybe a lil vis mixed in soooo....
would it be possible to make my own kit if i started with something like autoCAD made somethin up then had say a block of wood and clay, and shaped it to what i wanted, then added say ceran (sp??) wrap w/vasaline as a release agent then laid fiberglass over it??
i think this would be awsome just to point and say i made that and u'ed have a better feeling then buying the 1500 veilside "that never fit right anyway!" so has anyone ever done this before?? and since i have all the time in the world (well minus homework and my job) rolleyes.gif would this be possible i mean somebody has had to do it right?? so if u can help let me know thanks! smile.gif

Doggy made his kit. You can make your kit from foam I think. I read a how-to on it once. Don't remember if it was here or on celica.net. But I know nothing about it.

I have an idea... take an autobody class before you try anything drastic... or practice on something SMALL...

What about using aluminum foil and chicken wire for your mold... Clay would probably be nice since you can shape it easily to ur liking...

Just some thoughts...

well i figure with a wooden clay chicken wire styrofoam mold and enough fiberglass (any ideas on what type of fiberglass??) to lay down a good first layer to see if i like what i see and enough resin and all that it'll prolly come to about 150 bucks at the most so after i pull the engine out of my dads truck and get it out of the way i might have some room to work on this crazy thing, and also i fiugure if i make a litle model first about a foot wide and build on it first cause that'll save me alot of headaches
ne way if anyone knows what type of fiberglass or resin i should use(??) thanks again for the replies
