Im thinking about getting my windows tinted, but unsure of what % to get. I have limo all around for my Tacoma, sure it looks good, but its a female dog to drive at night. Anyways I would like to see different %s of tint on our cars. Post as many pictures you would like, the more the better biggrin.gif

The grade of tint is unknown to me since it came on the car.

I had 20% on the rear 3 windows of my Celica. Looked great during the day, I could see out of them just fine. Couldn't see in the car too well. But at night.. backing up was pretty much terrible. I couldn't see a thing. My Lexus has 35% all around and it's just about right. It's similar to factory window tint. But tinting is all personal preference.

Most people get harrased here even with 35% tints, so I got 40%. Protects from the sun well, looks good, and cops ignore me. smile.gif

I meant harrassed. tongue.gif

I have 15 and I think its perfect, I don't get bugged by cops but i still roll them down when they see me just to be safe. Its just dark enough that you can barely see who's driving in the day and at night they can't see in at all, but you can still see out of it. I agree 5% is retarded to drive with at night, especially when there is not many street lights like on the highway. But yea here's some pics:

Sorry about the ticket a cop checked mine to but lucky i passed.

i Also have a little patch not tinted in the back so when its night time its not all that bad looking out the windows even though you could just roll down your side windows and look out your mirrors but o well it also gives me an excuse for cops not to ticket me, its legal but if a cop were to try something i could say i can see perfectly out the un tinted spot.

sorry my image wont post for some reason but heres the link to my celica

Our cars look great with dark tint, BUT I have one question for the guys with tint under 35%, how do you go about passing your inspections? Do you slip the guy doing it a 20 dollar bill or something? tongue.gif

I don't know what its like where your from, but here, all you hae to do is get your car "saftied" which is basically an inspection before you can register the car. Once it's saftied, you don't have to get it inspected again, unless the ownership name is changed, then the new owner who wants to register it would have to get it saftied again, which would require an inspection.

That, or if a cop inspects your car on the road, which really sucks. But I had that happen to me on a local cruise night, and all my windows were down in the night time, and I still managed to get away with 15 percent all around.

Over here you have to get your car inspected every 1-2 years or so. They check your low/high beam, signal lights, brake lights, horn, windshield wiper, and tint(legal is 35%). If any of them arent legal then you dont pass. My friend went take his last month and didnt pass due to one burned out license plate bulb.

Wow that's too bad. I guess you coudl always do it yourself, then pull it off and re do it everytime if you really want it that bad. It'll save money and tinting on our cars really isn't that hard, especially with a hatcback

I just want to do the driver and passenger side windows. I tried it once for my Tacoma and the rear came out perfect but the front was hard to put on so I just didnt put any in the front. I just want some tint in the front because it is completely see through and the sun's rays are harsh here.

What I found made it a lot easier, is to just pull the door panel off a little bit at the top if you can (if not just pull it all the way off) because it makes it way easier to get the tint below that rubber seal which is the hardest part in my opinion. Thats what we did on my firends pathfinder, and it turned out great, it didn't peel at all.

Since my car isnt healthy enough to drive, I went buy some 20% tint and applied it today. It came out good IMO.

Driver's Side

Passenger Side (same as Driver side so I just took a quick one at an angle)

I think 20% is perfect biggrin.gif
