Dude the SR20 Sentra.... My last car had one, parts are cheap and are everywhere with just a few bolt ons you can have 400+ HP.

you think its just gonna be a better car?
anybody know how much boost i can push out of the sentra as it sits like 12psi without a tune??

im gonna hit up the eclipse tomorrow he says its all set up for 15psi and around 300hp all i need is a boost controller so im ordering one first thing when i get it home.. and using nightshade on the tails ewwwwww.

I wouldn't get a Eclipse, too many problems. I think the only person who can own a Eclipse needs to be a Mitsubishi mechanic. Too many problems, it blows gaskets like no other, transmissions always have problems. When I had the SR20 in my 240 I had no problems what so ever low maintenance and there quick.

Just be careful with a Eclipse. There's always something wrong with them.

i know iv heard alot of bad about eclipses im gonna be looking at this guys paperwork on the motor like crazy but should be a fun car

if the motors got all forged internals and bored .20 over doesn't 240-250 sound weak on 10psi??

or you think the stock fuel system is holding it back?

eclipse if you want a car that is broken all of the time.

My friend had 3 b13 sentra se-r's and they had tons of mysterious issues - even Coomer had one that had tons of problems. Both cars are not worth it. And if the guy with the sentra says his motor is worth 5500, then why sell it for 2900. Its real fishy and I think you may find yourself up sh*t creek if you go with either.


Furthermore, why are you gung ho about a turbo? You're a kid. You will be spending 3 times more on gas, your insurance will be sky high, and you're going to drive it like every other kid who has a turbocharged car. Everyone says they won't, but don't kid yourself.

So my official vote is neither.

^ That. The Eclipse is...an Eclipse, it's all said right there. The Sentra is cool, but it's a Sentra with a cool engine. You can start counting on problems because of the age of the car, and then you have to add problems related to the swap. So neither are worth it whatsoever.

You have a GT, a 5S-FTE is a pretty good setup from what I read. Do that instead.

He has a valid point too, those prices are pretty iffy and low on cars like that, the Eclipse if it was working properly i would say he could sell for 6-8K not 4100. And the Sentra with the SR20 is def questionable, why 3300$ when just the swap cost 3500 or so. It cost me 4K and that was ordering from 240motorsports.com and ordering the basic swap package which was 3K not including other things needed. So after I think about it i would say neither as well. Just turbo your 5s i think 3K is enough to do that. I know if your looking to spend 4100 thats plenty to do it.

i own an eclipse, as my beater, and it runs GOOD 227K on it. HOWEVER i know that eclipses in general are crap ESPECIALLY the turbo ones. I got lucky with mine somehow, though it has its problems that my celica never had. Personally, i would go for the motor with more aftermarket support IMO. if not, i got a really good friend nearby that sells eclipse parts on ebay WHEN you WILL need them!
