Next week I'm going to be putting JDM fenders on my car - they won't have the pinstripes the rest of my car has, so I'd like to take the opportunity to completely remove the existing pinstripes and re-stripe in a different color. However, I don't wanna scratch my paint scraping off the old stripes, so is there any way to get them off without harming my clear? They're the stick on type, it seems.

Also, same goes for the celica emblem on the US fender - I'd like to put it on the JDM fenders underneath the sidemarker - is it just 3M tape or is it held in by screws?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Edit: Here are my stripes:

and here's my emblem:

A blow dryer and some Goo Gone will take the pinstripes right off.

x2 on that.

I believe the emblem is held on by two screws or sumthing. you will have to take it off when you take off the fender.

I remember you recommending Goo Gone to remove my overspray too haha, you love that stuff don't you?

Thanks for the tip - good thing I still have a half bottle of the stuff. I assume heat, then spray the Goo Gone, then remove by getting under it with a fingernail and peeling off?

Apply heat to where you want to start peeling off the pinstripe and just get under it with your fingernail. Heat the sections you pull at a time and it will be easier. When you got the entire pinstripe gone, that's where the goo gone comes in handy! Spray on the leftover sticky residue and use some elbow grease and a rag, should come off nicely.

x2 on the emblem, I believe its 2 screws and you're set!

My glue was a bit more...dried in I guess.

I tried goo gone, veggie oil, 3M adhesive remover, and finger nail...

Only thing that worked for me, was rubbing compound, 3 rags, zip ties and a palm sander.

I've invested in a buffer since...=P
