Depends on what you want. GT is perfect fotr a 3sgte swap, no need in moving tranny mounts or anything. ST you need to move a mount or so. If you need a DD both are good cars the ST and GT. What exactly do you want ? What are your goals ext ?

hmm well it all depends on what you plan on doing... if you want to swap an OBDI gt is the way to go in most cases...

the post facelift bumper (96+) is a favorite, but so is the 95- two post hatches. coupes are rare!

you will spend more time and money looking for aftermarket parts for a 6gc compared to a 7gc. both a great cars. search the site. you will find a lot of inspiration.

Id say pick up a GT lower it and put rims on it then. And save and buy a clip for that potent 3s, welcome to 6gc, you'll find lots of into on here and lots of friendlies. and theres only a few sites where you can get aftermarket parts for the 6th gen kinda sucks, the 7th gen has 10x more. and again welcome.

There really isnt any major problems with the 6th gen, try to find one with no rust, and with decent miles. Whats your price range and where do you live. I'll look around for you.

the biggest problem with the 6gc is lack of power in the usdm! good reliable cars though... they hold very pretty well!

Get a hatch, just look better in my opinion. And in all honesty you might as well pick up that since its already swapped to the best engine you can get ( 3rd gen WRC ) and build off it. And just change the things you dont like about it. Thats what i would do. If you got that you just saved a good 6K in swapping engines, tranny, axles, wiring, ext. And if already has other JDM goodies on it that ARENT ANYWHERE CLOSE TO CHEAP. Just saying, if you have 5K get that.

Liftback is what Toyota called it, hatchback is what the rest of the automotive world calls it.

No you have coupes, verts and the liftback ( hatchback ). Hatch's are just more popular. Coupes have a actual trunk not a hatch,

hatches are better in my opinion to, you can take out your back seats within 10 minutes rather than spend more time with a coupe. and coupes are ugly to me.. soorryy guys hatch is the way to go, and yea get a 96 and up you get the pre face lift, and if your lucky you'll already have the fog light wires pre ran.. mine are.

You will find that a 7GC GT and a 6GC GT are pretty much equally slow. The 6GC is alot more reliable tho - the 5S-FE is one of the most reliable engines ever made. As mentioned before - if you plan to swap get a '94-95.
Just look for a nice clean one - should be no problem with your budget

well since you got 5k to spend, might as well take it to a toyota dealer and pay $90 to have toyota do their 120 point inspection. they'll tell you what to what's bad and what to replace. trust me, this is well worth it! i've been through it and it's well worth the money.
