I'm working with a gen3 3sgte motor. Looking to get around 400hp but will build it for around 600 as long as my budget supports it smile.gif I'll be posting pics here of new parts as they come in. I'm still waiting on one more box from emspowered (3 months and counting), so I haven't been able to install the new turbo kit yet. I'll post some pics when it's all in.

That hks bov posted above is their universal kit but the same valve is used across their car specific kits as well. I don't believe this valve has any kind of rating attached to it. HKS valves are "pull-type" valves, meaning they have to "pull" open against the boost for them to open. The more boost you run, the more the boost pushes them closed.

I can't wait to see the build thread over the winter! this looks like it's going to turn out kicka$$!
I'm looking into doing something like this once I get out of college.
How much do you think this build will end up costing? (if you don't mind me asking)

Just guessing, but probably around 6-7k. Unfortunately I don't have the space or tools to do a lot of the motor work myself so I'll be handing much of it off to a local shop. I've been keeping track of all my purchases so when everything is said and done I'll let you know. Don't plan on this getting wrapped up over the winter smile.gif....I'll be accumulating parts and installing things as I can.

Turbo kit is finally installed.

Also relocated my battery to the trunk.

A couple thoughts for those of you thinking about buying this kit. I ended up buying some slim fans and had them mounted on the front side of the radiator to give me more space...one of the fans would have had to been removed in order to fit the wastegate. A LARGE portion of your tranny case needs to be removed in order to get the compressor housing to clear it. In my case the wastegate pipe could have had a bigger bend in it because it hardly offered any clearance to bolt up the downpipe to the turbo. Also, I believe in the description for this kit it says you can use your stock heat shield, but in my case it wont work. Overall I love the looks of the kit. I had my manifold, downpipe, and screamer pipe ceramic coated black and am happy with the results. Tried to install my new HKS ssqv 3 but was getting compressor surge...I think I need to get a new flange because it was fitment wasn't the greatest.

Here are some other small goodies a got around the same time as the kit.

AEM ems, cams, and cam gears hopefully coming the start of next year. I have to save my pennies until then smile.gif

Looking very good as it is.
So new turbo kit on std magement - how does it feel.
Is the responce good?
Is there any more turbo lag?
How much maximum boost are you running?

I'm only running 10psi (wastegate spring). I unhooked my EBC because I didn't want to push the engine on this size of a turbo before getting a new EMS and tune. I haven't had many opportunities to drive the car because of the weather but the turbo felt really good the limited times I took it out. Response is obviously slower then the ct20b but this turbo pulls real nice. I'm sure once I turn the boost up this thing is going to hit hard.

If you have an AFR gauge, turn up the boost a little at a time and watch the AFR. As long at its does not go lean, you should be fine with a huge grin wink.gif

post up a video to smile.gif
