Hey whats up everyone, recently resgistered and thought i'd post here and introduce myself. My name is Jason, im 26 and live in Charlotte, NC.Was referred by one of your fellow members Easternpiro1 biggrin.gif to sign up here and browse around, etc. Not a current 6gc owner but will be running into a few thousand soon to get out there and buy one within the next few months then possibly looking to do a 3s swap. I know alot about cars but not too much about the 6gc so any help on here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to post here and see you guys around!

Sweet! Welcome to this site! As well as having the opportunity to actually purchase a Celica from some of our fellow members; when you do, the help given from people on this site is amazing. Some of these guys autocross, some of them are heavy on fabricating stuff that would ordinarily not be even thought possible, and some people just know this car like the back of their hand! Hope to see posts from you in the future!

Welcome to the site and huzzah to being from NC! thumbsup.gif

At this point I've been checking Craigslist everyday and there are at least 4 in the NC area selling for under $5000 grand. If you can get to VA there's a couple there too.

LOL - "Possibly"? You haven't had the pleasure of riding in Matt's car yet, have you? Once you do you'll throw that "possibly" right out his passenger window tongue.gif
Welcome bro - if you are half as cool as Piro I know you'll make a great member and go far in this community. I'd urge you to take your time and read thoroughly through the volumes of information we have avaliable to you here. The 6GC is an incredibly graceful and capable car - not to mention the most beautiful design in the world IMO.
Welcome [hopefully to club 3S in the near future]! biggrin.gif

Also, try to get a '94-'95 if you're doing a swap - OBDII in NC is no joke in a '96 or newer.

The 3S swap is so much less legal hassle in an OBDI vehicle.

'94 with a bad engine - great swap candidate - $1500: http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/pts/2003150370.html

'94 with an auto but good condition - $3000: http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/ctd/2002610723.html

Thanks for the welcome everyone, Hopefully soon enough ill be owning my first 6gc, then soon after that, it will be 3s swapped biggrin.gif. Actually riding in/driving Matt's car after his swap for the first time gave me the idea of wanting to own one..i think the back of my head is still imprinted on his headrest lol, so much torque. I appreciate that feedback Keiri, that should narrow my search down to looking for a 94 or 95 Celi, cause the emissions laws in NC are terrible mad.gif.
